Summary
A divorcee. A small-town café. A decades-old mystery she thought was long buried.
Trina is starting over after a painful separation from her husband of almost 20 years. Grief and loss force her to return to her hometown, where she has to deal with all of the things she left behind to rebuild her life, piece by piece. A hometown she hasn't visited since she left at the age of 18.
When the handsome police officer who lives next door comes knocking with questions about a tragedy from her teenage years, Trina finds herself wondering if everything she thought she knew about the past is a lie. In the end, she uncovers a secret that will shake her to her core.
With her children and husband gone, Trina must learn how to find peace on her own and discover a new path to happiness. She must finally confront the ghosts of her past, so she can move forward with her life.
A heartwarming women's fiction from the USA Today best-selling author of The Summer Sisters.

Relatable!
Home Sweet Home by Lilly Mirren is a relatable listen of over-coming tragedy and going back home. The storyline is powerful and full of grief, guilt, humor and mystery. I thought the author wrote the characters with grit and determination for new beginnings and second chances. Brigid Lohrey was fantastic bringing the characters to life with her voice. She inflected the right emotions.

Sweet story of starting over
I so loved Katrina’s journey of finding herself and starting over. Love loss, finding yourself and reconnecting with family. Very well written with great narration.

You CAN Go Home Again
Lily Mirren has a deft touch when dealing with the tragedies that can occur in life. It turns out you can go home again! Lovingly narrated by Brigid Lohrey with distinct voices for each character, a mystery is unraveled that brings peace to the survivors. The descriptions make me long for a chance to visit these locales.

This story ended too quickly...
In this book I heard parts of my own story... (spoiler alert!) Having a child with a brain tumor and how that impacts a family like a bomb is only too well known to me, and I’ve felt the strain that it can place on the parents. I loved this book, but was disappointed the author didn’t elaborate more. It was over too quickly!

Lilly has done it again!
I can't get enough of Lilly's writing. This story had me wanting to keep listening non-stop until I finished it! It was well developed and full of adventure. Brigid Lohrey may just be my new favorite narrator! If you are on the fence about giving this a listen, let this be your gentle nudge.. DO IT!

Powerful story!
Home Sweet Home! It's not always easy to go back home. Trina left her home town when she graduated high school and didn't look back. Circumstances there left her not wanting to return. Now it's 20 years later, divorcing and reevaluating her life, she finds herself going back to where it all started. There is much that has happened, and she needs to deal with the pain and grief to be able to pick herself up again. Lilly Mirren has written a story that could be any one of us. It's deals with realistic situations, both happy and sad, and lets us live it all with Trina. The fantastic secondary characters bring it all together with Trina's mother at the forefront. It's a rebuilding of faith and love and a tribute to this woman's spirit.
Brigid Lohrey brings us an emotion filled performance. It's perfectly executed and tugs on our hearts and fills us with love.
