About this listen
Temperatures rise when there are two cooks in Jude's kitchen....
Jude's drowning when he can't save his family business single-handed. The last person he expects to throw a lifeline is Rob, a rival chef who once beat him to first place in a cooking contest.
Two chefs working together won't be easy. Not when Rob is everything Jude isn't - popular, extroverted, and a one-time hookup. What's worse is that Rob wears his heart on his sleeve while Jude's still in the closet.
Jude's dilemma doesn't end there. Rob's rescue package comes with conditions that mean sharing everything from the profits to Jude's sleeping quarters. Sleeping with the enemy will either be a disaster or signal a much brighter future, but only if Jude can meet Rob's final condition and love him in the open.
Featuring opposites who attract, rivals to lovers, and an out-for-you storyline dripping with hurt-comfort feelings, His Horizon is the first in a shared-world series of stand-alone MM romance novels from Con Riley.
Contains mature themes.

Lovely story of survival
Sweet story of recovering from long misunderstandings in family, from storms that wrecked livelihood and future. Delivered in the perfect narration by Cornell Collins.

Enjoyable
The number of coincidences started to annoy me and once you realise every little set back will be solved with happiness, the story gets too predictable.

Wonderful story
I didn’t see the ending coming. The setting in Cornwall is excellent and the plot mesmerising. I wasn’t sold on the narration particularly the dialogue but it grew on me a bit.

amazing
Wow. I'm relatively new to Con Riley, having only read one book by them before, and I thought it was absolutely amazing. I love their writing style, so it was a no-brainer to download when I had access to this audiobook, read by Cornell Collins. I thought I would enjoy it, but I was in no way prepared to be absolutely blown away by it.
For me, this book was quite angsty. It was relatively low angst between the couple, but there was a bunch of other stuff going on, and all of it underpinned with Jude's overwhelming grief at the loss of his parents and his sadness that he never came out to his family. Normally, I'm fine with that sort of content, but this was done so well and written so emotively I got a lump in my throat more than once, and kept tearing up. I even tried to swap out for a different audio that hopefully wouldn't make me cry all the time, but I couldn't stop thinking about this one and had to return to it almost immediately. I also stayed up way way too late, binge-listening to the last few hours, because I had to see how it ended. It's a beautiful, beautiful book.
This was incredibly swoony and romantic as well as sad, and there were some amazing moments of hilarity too. Loved that Rob was always there for Jude, even when Jude didn't realise, and he was amazingly supportive whilst still getting most of the funny moments as well. Loved all the pet names for Jude, and that he called him darling and Fishface with equal affection. I'm not entirely sure why he called him Fishface, but it's said with so much love it's impossible not to smile. There's quite a lot of heat in this one, but it doesn't feel like too much, given the focus on recovery, trust and healing. It's a really wonderful audio, and it was absolutely worth the tears. I just cannot believe how well done it was, and how everything came together so seamlessly. Definitely recommend, I loved everything about it.
