Summary
Schon nach ein paar Zeilen ist die Welt des Gendarmerieinspektors Simon Polt in Vollendung aufgebaut. Die Kellergassen sind lauschig und noch keine touristischen Kampfziele. Man trifft sich eben gerne und verkostet gegenseitig den neuen Wein. Und dazu gibt es reichlich Gelegenheit in den kleinen Weinviertler Ortschaften im Wiesbachtal. Ein Refugium für die wahren Werte des Daseins, wo sich alle schon seit ewigen Zeiten kennen. Doch plötzlich geschieht Merkwürdiges und dieser Idylle: Da verrichtet jemand in der Nacht seine Notdurft vor der Eingangstür des Gemeindeamtes. Gleich anschließend gibt es einen Brand, der im Zeughaus der Feuerwehr ausbricht. Er wird aber so schnell gelöscht, dass darüber nicht einmal ein Gerücht entstehen kann. Kleinigkeiten nur, doch dann ist plötzlich die Pfarrersköchin tot. Vermutlich hat sie jemand mit ihren eigenen Heilkräutern umgebracht, wie Zyniker vermelden...
