Summary
He’s not just rich…he’s filthy rich.
When I started working at Salacious Players’ Club, I never expected to end up on the auction block ready to grant a date to the highest bidder.
This club is not really my scene. I’m not the kind of girl rich guys take home. I’m more a piano playing, van-living, free spirit kind of girl.
So when Ronan Kade, the richest man at the club, puts down over a hundred grand for my time, how can I tell him no?
But he’s too old. Too rich. Too cocky.
And oh yeah…he once dated my mother.
Except he doesn’t know that. He has no idea who I am.
One date turns into a trip to Paris. And an offer to live with him in his penthouse. Then a promise to take care of me.
Before I know it, I’m calling this silver fox my daddy.
Ronan Kade only bid on one date, but I think he’s winning much more than that.
Can we overcome the years between us to find happiness?
And will he find it in him to forgive me when he learns the secret I’ve been keeping?

Fabulous Story & Listen🎧 Enthralling & Heartfelt!
Sara Cates pens another wonderful novel set in her “Salacious Players Club” series, one of my favorite series and places to spend time in, I love the world she created and all the amazing characters in it, getting lost in that world is escapism at its finest. This book is Ronan Kade and Daisy’s story, an age gap romance like no other, the story grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it straight to the end. Ronan, a billionaire and an investor in the club, he is also a “Daddy Dom”, a silver daddy in his mid-fifties, he is also a pleasure king. Daisy is a twenty-one-year-old who has a love for music, and planned to go to a music school but she put her education plans on hold to find out who the person is that funded her scholarship and why, she also wants to know what his connection was to her mother. Getting a job in the Salacious Players Club gets her one step closer to getting her answers, but then the unexpected happens, she loses a bet and wind up on the auction block to be bid on for a date, and Ronan was the highest bidder. So here is her chance to spend time with him and ask him questions, but that is not how it all goes down and he is nothing like she thought he would be. I loved the layers to the story and the depth and complexity of the characters, and it was great to watch them spend time together and get to know each other. This beautifully written and plotted story has the perfect balance of drama, heart and steamy romance and kink scenes that were superbly done. Sara Cate, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Lessa Lamb and Stephen Borne were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life and did so with a complete understanding of who they were portraying, giving each a voice that suited that character and were believable in every role they played. Lessa Lamb’s Daisy was perfection, grasping every side of her personality, her youthfulness and her insecurities, and her strengths and determination. Stephen Borne did the same for Ronan, playing Ronan with swoon-worthy daddy dom perfection. Both were just as fabulous performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance and had you feeling every single one. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another amazing listen.

Cute and kinky
The story is like Pretty woman” or a modern day fairytale with a heavy side of kinky fun times.
They both struggle with their grief, and there is a massive age gap amongst other things in their way. But we get our hea in a very fairytale worthy moment at the end.

Great story
I liked the characters and the way they evolved rather than it just being a love affair.

Great addition to the Salacious Players Club
The most recent addition to the Salacious Players Club series was everything I expected from Sara Cate plus some. The spice was 🤌🏻💋 chefs good (as we knew it would be based off other books in the series). The story itself felt rushed to me. I am a fan of the slow burn and you don’t get that in this story. The age gap between the characters is pretty substantial 30+ years. I would have liked to read about some challenges or obstacles they faced regarding it, aside from their own internal turmoil over it. The FMC was a bit whiny and annoying, but that could be attributed to her age (God I hope I wasn’t that annoying at 21). This book definitely felt like it lacked the depth the other books in the series have, but again I did still enjoy it and I love this kink so that helped. Hints are dropped for the next book and I am more excited for that one.
Now to talk about the narration. The female narrator I have listened to before in a few Katee Robert audiobooks and overall I like her voice and her style. She did a great job of making the FMC Daisy sound young and very unsure of herself. I am not a fan of her male voice when she is speaking as Ronan, it’s not terrible but I’m not a fan. The male narrator I have never listened to before but I loved his dark husky voice for Ronan. Both narrators did a fantastic job on the Spicy scenes A+ there. Overall the narration was good and took nothing away from the story. I gave this a 3 star rating which translates to - I like it a lot.

breathtaking and captivating
Enthralling, powerful and highly passionate, Highest Bidder is a great continuation of SPC. Sara Cate completely blew me away with Ronan and Daisy's story. Their connection and undeniable love and devotion is hopeful, devastating, breathtaking, intense and captivating. Lessa Lamb and Stephen Borne are worth their weight in gold. Bravo!!

Most Annoying FMC Ever!
If self-sabbotage was a person, Daisy would be it. Male narrator was golden. Female narrator was a little too over the top, but not horrible.

Another Excellent Installment
Another excellent installment in the Salitious Players world. I will admit I held of on reading this one longer than usual, despite being a huge Sara Cate fan. I don't typically read books with tropes or kinks I usually find cringeworthy. I can't say how surprised I was to find that I didn't hate, and maybe even enjoyed, the whole "daddy" thing in this one. it. It just worked here, based on all of the background facts of the story that I won't discuss due to spoilers. Just know that even if you don't typically enjoy the whole daddy kink, it isn't overdone here and it fits with the overall relationship between the characters. Lessa Lamb and Stephen Borne's performances are also worth mentioning. They did an excellent job with the narration. I would definitely recommend this one.

Perfect casting for this taboo age gap romance!!!
“I fell in love with a man thirty-five years older than me. Who happens to be a billionaire.” By chapter 5 of this book, I was hooked!!! It had a surprise that captured me even more into the story and the plot development did not disappoint! It’s taboo, forbidden, huge age gap (57/21), so spicy and definitely has the daddy kink! If you do nothing else, just listen to the first 5 chapters of this book and I promise it will captivate you into the plot and have you wanting to know more!
Lessa Lamb & Stephen Borne Both were new to me narrators for the audio of this book but they were so well casted!! This is a huge age gap romance and their tones and voices captured the ages of the characters perfectly! Lessa’s voice for Daisy sounded young and carefree while Stephen sounded exactly like who you’d imagine for a silver fox like Ronan! They narrated the whole book beautifully and kept me captured into the story! This will be an easy relisten audio for me!

Great Plot Lost, Never to be Seen Again
The story started off beautifully, lacking some world building, but that's fine. However, it changed in the middle of the book. 4 soild chapters went by with no plot progression at all, just sműț which is fine for some but had me skipping ahead A LOT. When the plot did pick back up, it was all over the place and felt like the "secert" was overshadowed by an arbitrary issue that doesn't make sense given the DDLG dynamic. The SPOILER SENTENCE AHEAD "we both need to grow up and fix our own problems separately then come back together" doesn't make any sense in real relationships or DDLG dynamics. The point of both is to help each other grow and flourish together, not heal and come back.
Overall, the writing itself was well done, but it left me wanting more world building. The story just got lost for me and was unrealistic toward the end. Voice actors were decent!

meh, there's better for sure
where to start, my first thought was gross (iykyk). but I'm not a quitter so I saw it through (still gross) BUT the overall story was okay if you were to omit the gross part. I did not like Daisy's inability to take care of herself in any sense of the word. I understand being busy & side tracked but the routineness of her doing it, made her challenging to even like. the performance, I wish when it was a dual dialog both readers would have read. it was a bit childish to have the female voice dawn a fake deeper male voice or the male reader to emasculate his voice, just have them read together would that have been so difficult? overall, knowing what I know now about the book I wouldn't have read it. I've already removed it from my device. I'd skip this one, unless you like sharing men or women with your actual biological parent (still gross).

Highest Bidder
The highest bidder is another Daddy kink book I read and I have to say I kind of like it. The idea of man so devoted to his person that they will move heaven and earth to make them happy.. Swoon! Sara Cate did it again with this one. The narration for it was epic, the story also epic. The salacious players club is my fav right now and I don’t know who’s book is my favorite. I can’t choose!
