Summary
Her family's fortune can buy Tara Douglas anything - except more time. Determined to make peace with her fate, she's come to the house her great-grandfather built in the Smoky Mountains to spend the time she has left in peace. But for once Tara becomes the healer when she finds wreckage of an otherworldly vessel and a badly injured man whose glowing eyes see right into her soul....
When Ki'san volunteered to journey to Earth, he never imagined he would find himself dying there. A physician from a vanishing race, he knows his people's law allows only a chosen few to hunt the females of this planet as mates. Ki'san's mere presence on Tara's world endangers them both, but the crash that leaves him clinging to life also brings him a female like none he could have imagined, one he cannot help but love....

Great fourth book in series!
This audiobook was very entertaining! The hero is the sole survivor of a Hirian ship on Earth. Injured, he’s found by a wealthy young woman who comes upon the ship during a walk in the woods. She helps him to the medical bay and they use a healing bed. Unsure what to do with him, she takes him home to the mansion she just inherited and hides him away while he heals. He doesn’t know that she is dying from a lifelong genetic disease and doesn’t have much time left. They fall in love, have encounters with a family ghost and discover old family secrets. Until one day her brother shows up and her alien love disappears. Will he return for her in time? Narration was excellent.

The best of the four, by far!
The fourth book of this series is so much better written, it’s hard to believe the same author wrote it. I was entertained by books 1 and 2 and book three was entertaining and had emotional depth. Book 4, however, was the real deal. It wasn’t just an alien capture romance, it had mystery, well developed characters, a kind Heroine who put others happiness ahead of her own. She wasn’t callus and hurtful like the first three Heroines and she immediately felt remorse when she did hurt someone; and rectified the misstep almost immediately. She seemed to be a bit of a princess, at first, but her life struggles had actually ensured she knew what was truly important. The first three books were included in the Escape/Romance package and had book three not have been so much better than book one and two I doubt I would have been willing to part with a credit for book four; I’m so glad I did!
In addition, the narration was done using true Duet narration, meaning the male performs all the male voices and the female performed all the female voices, like reading a play.
My only criticism is that I wish the book would have been longer. I hated for this book to end!😭

my favorite of the series
Ki’san is a doctor who is selected to go along on the next trip to Earth, in case of medical emergency. With his piloting skills, he can take over on the return trip when the two warriors have found their mates. But their trip is sabotaged by the Purists. Tara is crossing her family’s estate when she finds the wreckage and helps to rescue Ki’san. He, in turn, finds a way to rescue her.
The only thing missing from this story was a cameo of previous characters.
I really like the dual narration by McLaughlin and Jamo, with him taking male voices, and she taking female. And when they have the emotional dialogues - it’s almost like listening to a radio drama. The narration absolutely adds to the story! Wonderful!

Great story line.
The characters in this book made this book great. The storyline didn't weaver. Love this couples ups and downs. Looking forward to seeing what the purists will do.
