Summary

Miss Maryann FitzWilliam is too witty and bookish for her own good. No gentleman of the ton will marry her, so her parents arrange for her to wed a man old enough to be her father. But Maryann is ready to use those wits to turn herself into a sinful wallflower.

When the scandal sheet reports a sighting of Nicolas Ives climbing out the chamber windows of a house party, Maryann does the unthinkable. The Narrator is a big problem.

The story had potential, but is first ruined by the narrator's peculiar and irritating style and weird pronunciations.
The Heroine's character is all over the place, she is spoilt, stupid, wanton, an innocent, a suffergett, a vengeful bitch and so on.
The Hero is meant to be mysterious, tough dark and ruthless, as he forefills his mission of revenge.
The other characters are over the top. Her parents need to sell her to the highest bidder, despite their claim to love her.
Her brother is indulgent, also loves her, but gives no support when needed.
The suitor is her father's friend, who is brutal and a womaniser, but needs an heir.
Finally the author admits sex, has a smell. However, it doesn't stop her having sex everywhere. Also her love of the male appendage is her signature.
