A commemorative edition, featuring new material of the definitive, best-selling biography to mark 25 years since Kurt Cobain's death.

Kurt Cobain's life and death fast became rock 'n' roll legend. The worldwide success of his band, Nirvana, defined the music scene in the early 1990s, and their songs spoke to and for a generation. Music journalist Charles R. Cross, a veteran of the Seattle music scene, relates this extraordinary story of artistic brilliance and the pain that extinguished it.

Heavier Than Heaven is the definitive life of one of the 20th century's most creative and troubled music geniuses and includes a new introduction commemorating 25 years since Cobain's death.

Riveting listen

This is such an interesting book. At times I felt sad for Kurt and at times found him repulsive. He truly was a complex character

I always thought he was killed, now I'm pretty sure it WAS suicide after all

it was a very interesting, well written book. I couldn't stop listening! Kurt was much weirder and more gross than I imagined!

I just want to give Kurt a big hug.

This book has helped me work through my own feelings. I felt deeply betrayed and angry when Kurt took his own life. At the time, I was 18 and dealing with my diagnosis of an incurable and progressive nervous disorder myself, I latched on to and was hooked by conspiracy theories. I shared their outrage and felt their hatred towards his Wife. Today, a lifetime later for me, I am a Husband and Father and have a University degree. I have lots of experience of life. I had suicidal thoughts and attempted to end my life. I am very grateful I got through, but Kurt did not. This is a sensitive, heart-breaking book. Charles R Cross pulls together a thorough and varied collection of facts, recollections and insights. Greg Lockett expertly tells the story, signalling different contributors with subtle changes of his voice. We can plainly see Kurt's tormented soul. Today, I don't blame Kurt or anyone else - I just feel so sorry for him. I see Kurt as an old friend, someone I wish I could have helped, I just want to give Kurt a big hug. I never got to meet him, but he is someone I still miss. Look out for your friends and family. Never let someone you love slip far enough to decide suicide is their only option. If you're feeling suicidal, reach out to someone.

WORTH EVERY SINGLE MINUTE!

Very detailed and brilliantly presented. Research was truly done for this book down to very extraordinary details.

This truly presented Kurt to me as I never have seen him before.

It was hard to feel a-lot of sympathy for him after this book, he just seemed so much like a narcissistic, self absorbed, lying, manipulative, angry D**K. Really recognise he had his issues but it just seemed to be his personality was quite rotten but this book I feel did give me more understanding about his personality and character so it gave me a sort of Love/Hate feeling about him while reading listening to this. To say he was a complicated guy is an understatement.

However all i wish to say at the end is Nirvana absolutely one of the greatest bands in history! Kurt Cobain was a legend of music!

After this book i will say my perception of him is a little different.

AMAZING BOOK! WORTH IT!
