Summary

Number one New York Times best seller with more than 11 million copies sold! When four-year-old Colton Burpo emerges from life-saving surgery with remarkable stories of his visit to heaven, his family doesn’t know what to believe. Heaven Is for Real details what Colton saw and his family’s journey towards accepting their young son had visited the afterlife.

“Do you remember the hospital, Colton?” Sonja said. “Yes, mommy, I remember,” he said. “That’s where the angels sang to me.”

Colton told his parents he left his body during an emergency surgery - and proved that claim by describing exactly what his parents were doing in another part of the hospital during his operation. He talked of visiting heaven and described events that happened before he was born and how he spoke with family members he’d never met. Colton also astonished his parents with descriptions and obscure details about heaven that matched the Bible exactly, even though he had not yet learned to read.

With disarming innocence and the plainspoken boldness of a child, Colton recounts his visit to heaven, describing:

  • Meeting long-departed family members
  • Jesus, the angels, how “really, really big” God is, and how much God loves us
  • How Jesus called Todd, Colton’s father, to be a pastor
  • The Battle of Armageddon

Retold by his father, but using Colton’s uniquely simple words, Heaven Is for Real offers a glimpse of the world that awaits us, where as Colton says, “Nobody is old and nobody wears glasses.”

Heaven Is for Real will forever change the way you think of eternity, offering the chance to see, and believe, like a child.

This audiobook recording of Heaven Is For Real includes:

  • Additional bonus content including Updates from father, Todd, and son, Colton, on recent events including the making-of-the-movie experience
  • “From the Set” Q&A’s with the movie’s filmmakers and actors

Having lost our own baby at just 10 weeks after her birth this true story has brought me comfort and further understanding that heaven is real and we as a family will all be reunited again in heaven when that time comes.

Giving believers more inspiration

I think often times we as believers don't give the words of Christ enough thought. Or perhaps we over think what we read in the Bible. Colton kept everything simple and easy to understand. It's heartwarming to hear how this child's testimony touched others across the globe. Most importantly how his story exposed others to Jesus Christ. Sometimes we feel that "our" story isn't that big of a deal, or lacks significance. But as the Bible states, we can do all things through Christ Jesus. And since God brings us through our trials and tribulations which helps brings us closer to God Almighty, it also shows how important God thinks we all are. After all, He created all of us. Glad this child was shown Heaven and got to spend a special time with God and Jesus. This child along with his family have great things ahead of them :). Keep the faith, and fight the good fight!!

I am truly blessed from this book

I'm not real good at reviews but while u accepted Jesus as my Savior I have struggled with some beliefs thru the years. Having the experience of going thru my dad's journey with a TIA & dementia it also strengthened my faith and beliefs but also brought up many questions. Thanks to my dad's wonderful night nurse calling me the night after I had spent 2 or 3 days with him and let me know there had been a sudden change & he was non-responsive, and that she would be surprised if he made it thru the night. Dad was miserable and wanted to go to Heaven for 4 of the 6 months he was there. I watched and listened as he called out to his brother and my grandma....I asked him if he saw Kenny and he said yes...as he was still reaching for him. I told him he would be back when it was his turn. I wasn't really 100% sure that it would be like that, but was so glad to get that confirmation. I told the nurse to tell him I was in my way, but that if Jesus got there b4 I did to grab his hand and run to Heaven, he had suffered enough, there was no way I could beg him not to go when he was miserable. I did get there b4 Jesus came, he woke up and KNEW it was me and I told him it was ok to leave and go to Heaven, that we would be ok....and in 80 min after we got there we felt his last breath and he let go of my hand 💔 It was both difficult and peaceful at the same time. Colton's story of Heaven gives me lots if peace. Thank you for sharing

Will enrich your life and relationship with God

Really easy to listen to. Found the beginning a bit slow and strange but it all made sense later on.
Great great message!! Highly recommend it. I had to get used to the narrators style but awesome overall.

Speaks to my Soul

My wife and I lost a child back in 2014. It took me all the way until 2022 to listen to this book. I also have the movie. I’m so grateful for this family sharing their experience with the world.
