Great for kids adjusting!

Transitioning for kids is hard. Whether it is moving or changing schools, adjusting to change is difficult for adults and even more so for kiddos. My 5-year-old and I just made a cross country move of over 2000 miles and, while we have some family here, she misses everyone and everything she's known at our previous home. She was blue, like Grumpy Gus, but Louie Lou gave some great advice that we will be trying to help my lil one get through her blues. My daughter is developmentally delayed, and this was a fun and easy way for her to learn great tools on how to adjust to the changes of moving through remembering that the fun she had in our previous state, she can have in this state too.
We got the audiobook and had a little technical difficulty locating the pdf to accompany it, then discovered you need to use your laptop/desktop to obtain the pdf. After that, we were golden :)

Great message for kids and everyone else

I sat down and listened to this with my daughter and she loved it. Her uncle just lost his battle with cancer a few weeks ago, so it was a good time for her to hear this message. He was the one who had the energy to keep up with her and they played a lot. They were very close.

I enjoyed the message myself because I moved across an ocean and continent. All my friends and family are thousands of miles away - 21 hours as the plane flies. I'm a lot older so it doesn't affect me as much, but it was still good to hear.

English is my daughter's third language, so the downloadable pdf comes in handy to help teach her to read. She's learning English at about the same age as most kids start to read, or a few years older, so it will help teach all kids to read English.

The artwork is great too!

Wonderful message!

Grumpy Gus is a character most children can relate to, especially if they are dealing with a difficult situation in their own lives. I especially enjoyed how a solution is not only presented but worked through to a favorable ending. Including the pdf version was also helpful, so children can read along with the narration. I really enjoyed the illustrations and how well they matched the words on the page. Along with a great story by Mr. Lewis, the narrator, Mr. Fleischmann, did an excellent job switching between voices and speaking clearly so young children can easily follow along. I loved this story and am glad to have the audiobook and pdf versions in my library. I highly recommend “Grumpy Gus Beats the Blues” to children of all ages, but especially those who might have a challenge to overcome.
