About this listen
One woman’s inspirational journey to finding a perfect love.
From a young age, Grace Clifton longs to serve the Lord and dreams of being happily married. With England in the midst of a Second World War, Grace experiences the touch of God and also the excitement of love and romance, but all too soon, it turns to heartbreak. Throughout her life, Grace has been sustained by her unwavering faith, but when all she holds dear is ripped away from her, Grace is devastated and left doubting everything she’s ever believed in.
As the world slowly recovers from war, Grace too begins the healing process. However, her steadfastness to God has been lost and she determines never to pray again. When an unexpected opportunity comes up in Kenya, Grace seizes the chance to seek a purpose and build a new life. In Mombasa, Grace soon realizes that she can’t distance herself from life’s complications, but if she’s prepared to open her heart, maybe her fragmented faith will blossom once more and bring her hope, love, and the restoration that she desperately needs.
Grace in Mombasa is a story about a woman whose amazing faith is shattered when her life falls apart, but will God simply let her go? If you like heartfelt dialogue, stories seeped in fact and history, and memorable characters, then you’ll love Tracy Traynor’s moving and inspirational novel that was inspired by real events.

A beautiful story written and narrated well.
This story follows the life of Grace from a child to an old lady. It feels like grandma telling her story. I enjoyed listening to how she felt during all the times in her life of joy and struggle. I feel it was well written and well narrated. I am not christian and did not feel this was a christian book, just a lovely story of life in a bygone era.I recommend this book to anyone who likes easy listening. I really enjoyed it.

For I was a stranger and you invited me in.
I was given a free code to listen to this book and boy what a listen.
Expect to be moved by this story which follows the path of a woman from childbirth to old age and which is incredibly moving. The story narrative sweeps from a difficult child birth to a childhood filled with joy and weaves a difficult path from tranquil village scenes to the horrors of Luftwaffe bombing over Manchester and Liverpool. Both writer and narrator have done an excellent job in presenting this Christian masterpiece. The second half of the novel is taken up by the main character's desire to live out a dream life in Kenya, a task she accomplishes but a task that is littered with extraordinary hardship. The story has plenty of Christian nuances and in my humble opinion it is a story of incredible friendships and love and laced liberally with doses of humour.
Well done!

This was an awesome, awesome read!
Before Grace even took her first breath she face a tragedy her mother died while giving birth to her. It was only because her father who was a vicar decided to live for Grace, Instead of giving in to his first emotions and that was to give up due to losing the love of his life. Grace grew up learning the love of God from her father and she was steadfast and her love for the Almighty. It was only when her every belief was tested that her love wavered. From will leaving to go to war the only man she have a lot to other devastating things that I won’t let you do the spoilers Grace feels abandoned by God. It is only when she sees an advertisement to go to Kenya to aid Efforts there.
I found this to be a really, really good book. Grace was so likable in the book was so easy to read. Although I do believe I read this previously, no I don’t think I did I did and I loved it then I love it now. It is a really good book and one I highly recommend. If you love historical romance then you love this book. Not to mention I thought the narrator did an awesome job And there is nothing better than a good story with a good narrator. This is so worth the credit.
