Summary
The world is at war.
The world order was shifting its gears over the last few centuries. From tribal nomadic life, which was essentially pastoral, to agricultural, and then to rapid industrialization and urbanization.
But in general, men were like sheep, followers; they were always in need of a leader. This leader had to be charismatic, and dependable. On his cue, his herd would be ready even to commit mass suicides, just like the sheep. For, what is war then?
The leader has to have an aura of omnipresence, and omnipotent. An aura, that’s all.
There were other inhabitants in this galaxy. Their beings were more advanced than ours. They came to Earth to establish trade, but Earth was not ready. Yet.
They studied man. Found out their incessant need for magic, boons, and miracles. Their faith in serendipity and in the power of divinity. They created something just like us, for men to follow, to fear and to thrive.
In the meanwhile, the sheep were following a different genre of world order. The new leaders and scientists, however, understood there were some hidden strings to all this. Something concealed in the primordial energy strings of the universe.
It is sentient, and its vibration creates source or nature, and vice versa.
If that eternal source of energy can be trapped, for man, the ceaseless energy starved beings, then the world, and the universe to boot, would be in the grasp of the powerful few. In short, the destiny of all life on this planet would be under control.
That was what the "leaders" thought. They mobilized the governments, military, and all the armaments necessary to consummate the "search".
However, the underlying balance system was already in a precarious state. The stories and the myths were coming apart. The legends were falling. While the string was being pulled, the whole order caved in. It fell on very unlikely hands to finally save our world, where we all live, and would perhaps continue to live.
Gods Versus Karma seamlessly blends sci-fi elements with Greek mythology, making it a unique and immersive universe to inhabit. The story brilliantly switches between perspectives that collectively work together to support a dynamic plot. Keeping a steady pace, JWR Henderson introduces listeners to distinguished characters, fascinating realms, and structures. Gods versus Karma is a hair raising recipe of romance and suspense told from an omniscient point of view.
