About this listen
Ghosts, a family curse, and a legacy of true magic
2018 Readers' Choice Award Winner for YA Paranormal Fiction
For 16-year old Abigail Renshaw, the terrifying nightmares are not the worst part. When apparitions start leaking out of the nightmares into her waking life - well, that's a problem.
But Abby's dealt with hallucinations before, and she's nothing if not resilient. Following clues from the nightmares, she convinces her mother to let her visit Harmony Springs, the small town in Florida where Abby was born, and where her grandmother still lives.
There, Abby finds unexpected help from new friends: a compulsive teenage blogger named Molly Quick, and Molly's older brother Ray-Ray (a guy Abby really starts to like).
The not-so-good news? Abby's apparitions might be real, the results of a family curse. And one of them wants to kill her.
For young adult fantasy fans of Bella Forest and Bianca Scardoni: If you like heroines who handle their own problems - no matter how spooky - you will love Ghosts of Bliss Bayou.

Nice teenage spooky story
This book is definitely aimed at a teenage audience, but can also appeal to adults of any age. The story ghostly part is very atmospheric and doesn’t have unnecessary gore and horror. The magic aspect and the family and local history give the book another dimension and all is rounded out by teenage insecurities and worries.
The narrator had a great reading style and good pace. She was clear and concise, with good diction.

Great Ghost Story
Ghosts of Bliss Bayou by Jack Massa is a great coming of age/ghost story that deals with witchcraft, magic, and spells. I really enjoyed the imagery in this story. The main character in this book is 17 year old Abby, who has interest in tarot cards and learning about witchcraft and saving her Grandmother's community from track development. Alicia Foreman was perfect for narrating this book. She sounded age appropriate for the characters and had distinguishable voices for them. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I would listen to more books by this author and narrator.

The Ghost of Bliss Bayou.
I was given a code for this. In return I'd leave an honest and voluntary review on audible once I'm done.
I really enjoyed this book, it's a supernatural ghost story with a slightly darker side, it's not full of gore or adult content which made listening very easy and enjoyable.
A strong heroin lead, who makes friends in her home town who help her with a dark secret, a curse.
The way it's written keeps you entertained and wanting, the narration is flawless, Alicia Foreman brings the characters to life and gives them thier own personality.
A deffinate 5 star.
I'd recommend this to anyone.

brilliant narration I think she's my new favourite
This story was so much fun, I loved all of the character, no one was flat or 2d and they were all brilliantly brought to life by the narrator. I really like the characterization she brought to the main character, she made her feel so genuine and warm, she was instantly likeable. But oh my word is she good at doing creepy whisper voice too! when she gave the bad spirit a voice it was genuinely unnerving!
The story has good narrative flow and is easy to follow, but still incredibly entertaining. It had just the right mix of mystery and magic, along with realistic teenage feelings of anxiety and self discovery to make this a book I'm sure I will come back to again.
looking forward to hearing the next in the series.

Ghosts of Bliss Bayou
Abigail has been having nightmares again. When she had them when she was younger she was lead to believe something was wrong. This time she decides she is going to keep it to herself the she remembers her grandmother she has not seen in years and decides its time for a visit. Only when she gets there she feels the pull and recognizes some of the places from her dreams. Her grandmother has lots to explain about their family history. This is a fun and intense paranormal story. The narration is nice and easy to listen to.
