Summary

Meet the Carnacki Institute’s operatives — JC Chance: the team leader, brave, charming, and almost unbearably arrogant; Melody Chambers: the science geek who keeps the antisupernatural equipment running; and Happy Jack Palmer: the terminally gloomy telepath. Their mission: Do Something About Ghosts. Lay them to rest, send them packing, or just kick their nasty ectoplasmic arses....

JC, Happy, and Melody are investigating a haunting at the long-abandoned Haybarn Theater, which is being renovated. But work has been thrown off-schedule by some peculiar and unnatural activities and a homeless man who appears to have been scared to death. After the potentially world-altering recent events of their previous assignment at Chimera House, the team thinks that a haunted theater (aren't they all?) will be a walk in the park.

Then they encounter the Faust — an ancient evil whose ability to alter reality itself will test their skills, science, and blind luck of the Ghost Finders to the limit.

Performed by Nanette Savard, Matthew Keenan, Scott McCormick, Colleen Delany, David Coyne, Julie-Ann Elliott, Laura C Harris, Terence Aselford, Eric Messner, Richard Rohan, Tim Getman, Scott Graham, Kimberly Gilbert.

Fun stories but the accents of the actors make it sound dated.

The stories were a fun, and non taxing if you’re not looking for anything clever. However the choice of voice actors and narrator made it sound much more like a very old (poor quality) TV adaptation of an Agatha Christie novel. Old fashioned, Upperclass Etonian sounding. Not very down to Earth. And a character described as a 30 year old man was clearly voiced by a much, much more “mature” man. The old fashioned, exaggeratedly posh accents, and poor casting made it a bit hard to immerse oneself in the story. A shame really. But as it was included in the plus catalogue, it was entertaining enough. Glad I didn’t pay or use a credit for it though.

Narrator’s accent!

Fun stories, but the narrator renders it barely listenable. The accent is truly grating and if I never here “long moment” again , it will be too soon.
