About this listen

Corey Curtis is coasting. At 33, she's in the best shape of her life and has a satisfying position at Jackson City Memorial Hospital. With a good paycheck, great friends, and occasional relationships with smart, beautiful women, she couldn't be happier. She thinks.

Dr. Thayer Reynolds, whiling away some time before the start of her Emergency Department fellowship at JCMH and intrigued by the stories she's heard, crashes the morgue to get a look at Corey - the woman her young colleagues are whispering about.

Totally spinning from her first interactions with Thayer, Corey throws herself into the post-mortem exam of a construction worker who fell to his death, which isn't at all suspicious - until it is. With no support from her boss or the police, Corey investigates the death on her own. Making bad decisions with good intentions, she recklessly endangers her own life and Thayer's.

Even worse - she potentially dooms any chance of a real relationship with Thayer before it even gets started.

A very good example of the genre

If you have enjoyed Jane Retzig or Cari Hunter books, I think you'll like this too.

Some sleuthing, some flirting, some justice - very well done.

Like salted popcorn I kept wanting more.

I always want a lot more depth of character and story from most lesbian romance stories, not to mention a little less predictability. But with story, I have to say I was looking for my next listen. Finished it really fast, I really enjoyed it. Well done, the mystery part had me hooked.

Enjoyable enough to want to read more in series

Overall this was an entertaining read and I liked the characters, central and peripheral. I would have liked more in relation to the crime element.

Unputdownable!

This book grabbed my interest from the very start and held it all the way until the end. Smooth storytelling with characters you wanted to get to know. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

It was decent

Not my favourite story, but it was still good. I think I struggled because so much time was spent on one of them being hurt which I know was part of their story but I got a bit restless waiting for something more to happen with them together. Then things finally started to happen and bam...it ends.

Couldn’t finish

I gave up after 20 minutes, I just hated the accents. It was like nails on a blackboard to me very annoying. Couldn’t remember half of what was being said as the Australian and American accents were putting me off.

Don’t bother

Why did I listen to the whole thing?
Absolutely no gallows humour.
Oh dear such nonsense.
