About this listen
Who knows what ascends from the Deeps...
Macey is really quite ordinary, if you ignore that she's a kelpie princess living on land. Still, her life is boring until she gets kidnapped by a man who doesn't quite know why he kidnapped her. Try and figure that one out.
Thankfully, he and his two companions are prepared to help her find out why she can't return to Earth from their house in the Mists. Now the only problem is that Macey keeps getting distracted by the three mysterious and very sexy men....
A reverse harem romance drenched in Scottish mythology.

Great Audiobook
From the deep is a mythical adventure story with heated scenes. This is Scottish mythology with an incubus and two wraiths.
Macey is a Kelpie princess who hasn’t come into her powers yet. She lives on the land with her brothers. She’s kidnapped but all isn’t as it seems. Seven wardens are supposed to save the world, but what if they aren’t the first to answer the call. Macey needs to risk more than her heart in order to fulfil her destiny. Her mythical kidnappers hold the key to her magic. As this story unfolds we find the bond between a group of people from different backgrounds. Macey is at the centre but she needs her men for more than a distraction.
This is an adventure book. We get to explore a creative world and meet some interesting characters.
This is a reverse harem story which has adult content. It’s the first book in a series and more is to come.
I listened to this book via Audible. Angus Yellowlees reads this book well. This change in voices enhanced each of the characters voices.
I really enjoyed this book and I’m quickly becoming a Laura Greenwood groupie. Skye MacKinnon is new to me but I look forward to reading more by this author. ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Fabulous narration, loved the characters and story
How the heck have I never heard the narration of Angus Yellowlees before this book? He is amazing, his accents are spot on and he brings such life to this book. I need to hear more of him!!!
This story intrigued me. I loved the characters, slowly learning what they are and watching as they interacted. I love that they are all different, with varying levels of knowledge. The world building is great, each new place has enough detail so you know where you are but not enough to overwhelm. I thoroughly enjoyed this and would really like to know what happens next...

Interesting
Macey wants to be on land. In order to do so, she has to allow her powers to be locked and her brothers to come with her. While coping with this and adjusting to life on land, something happens and life as she knows it is forever altered. She discovers that she is one of the seven elementals chosen to keep the world from being destroyed.
I actually didn't hate this book. I really enjoyed it actually. I have read previous books by Skye MacKinnon and I enjoyed those very much as well. I'm not going to lie, I enjoyed them a bit more than I did this one, but I'm not here to talk about those books. I'm here to talk about this one. While I enjoyed the book very much, I have a feeling that I will not be rushing to read the rest of the series. I will probably wind up rereading this book when I do get around to reading the rest of the series though.
My biggest issue with this book was Macey. I didn't really care for her personality. I'm really hoping that this is one of those cases that she winds up having a major personality growth through the series. If not, I do not think that I will be able to stand the rest of the series. I did see potential for that happening towards the end of the book at least. Another complaint I have about the book is the instant sexual attraction thing. It's just not very realistic in my opinion. That doesn't really deter me from reading this series though.
I do recommend this book. If the reader is a fan of fantasy and end of the world type novels, this is a very ideal book for them. I do need to stress the importance that this book is very heavy with adult content and some children should probably avoid reading this material. Other than the two main issues I pointed out, I enjoyed this story very much and I do look forward to reading the rest of the series when I'm able to.

Loved this paranormal RH listen!
Fantastic story and characters, I was hooked from beginning to end and can’t wait for more. Plenty of action, humor, and romance. Loved the narrator! It was my first time listening to this narrator and I certainly hope it won’t be the last. I loved listening to his performance and the different voices he used for each character. I received a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Narrator was amazing, great start of series
Book one in the Seven Wardens series, unique and makes you want to finish in one sitting. Macey is a Kelpie princess living as a human on land when she suddenly gets kidnapped and what follows is one giant mind blowing fantasy novel that I just could not put down. Characters are intriguing and there is growth in the story. If you enjoy fantasy paranormal RH romance novels then you so have to give this book a try I guarantee you will not regret it!

My Thoughts on From the Deeps
This reverse harem story was set in a world of different magical creatures.
I'm a fan of all the different creatures coming together and contributing their own special part to things. It's what I love about RH too. That each character contributes something special to the relationship.
The overall plot of this story was good. And it was told in an interesting, entertaining way. It was certainly able to hold my attention. I also find myself interested in what's to come.
Angus Yellowlees was a new narrator for me. And his accent was fun to listen to. The only things I found myself wishing different was some of the scenes with other "disembodied voices" and tone variations for so many characters. I found some of the disembodied voice moments a little distracting because of how it was recorded/styled. Sometimes it pulled me out of being absorbed in the story. And then I just thought there were a lot of characters but not always enough variation on tone. You definitely have to pay attention when everyone is talking together to know who's speaking if you're listening and not reading. Overall I liked him as a narrator. I just think I'd like him even more with less parts to play.
This book is not a standalone but part of a continuing storyline and I wouldn't mind hearing more.

This story was great! I felt like it was a unique story with great characters. I loved that it had a bit more heat in it that I normally see in Skye's PNR. I personally thought the collaboration was great! I look forward to reading more from this duo!
Narration was great! This was the 1st I have listened to from this narrator and was not disappointed. It was well read, entertaining and clean.
Great listen! Looking forward to book 2
