About this listen

Ard is hunkering down in the mountains for the winter as the war cools with the snow.

That means it’s time to practice his magic and stay out of trouble. Well… Ard might not be entirely proficient at the last one. At the very least, he’s staying away from the city and his penchant for annoying other people.

Except that doesn’t work out so well when he’s forced to attend a ball held by the Brighthavens, though they’ll certainly regret forcing Ard’s attendance.

No matter how it goes down, you’re sure that Ard is going to have as much fun with it as he can.

another great addition

Once again, loving the story and the characters in this entire series. Smut is nice and all but genuinely grown to just love the stories Bruce comes out with! Ard is just as funny as in the previous books and the characters are still great.

side note, there is an exiting error in chapter 26 that just made me laugh, not sure why but when both narrators broke character for a just a couple of seconds I kind of started laughing.

Super performance, interesting story and very funny

What impresses the most here is the performance from the narrators. They do a incredible job. They really make the story come alive and the banter between the characters are hilarious and witty. The story is also great, thou i think i'd preferred it to not be HaremLit, i'd prefer a normal one... probably ^^

It reminds me alot of a good old ecchi/harem anime, BUT with the twist the MC isn't a complete dounce... Hallelujah! Throw in a excellent dab of slapstick comedy and witty banter and this is one of the better listens i've found.

NOTE: I'm writing this after listening to the 3rd Book, and it's a summarize of all 3 books.

Currently my favourite of this series

The first book was good but things felt a little off,
The second book kinda felt like filler, where plenty was started but not finished. It didn’t even really have a final battle

This book however, has tied up most loose ends (at least enough for a book series) and lits of fun snd main events happens.

Don’t get me wrong, i like all the books. They are fun. I like all of bruce sentars books.

My favourite series to date, is dragons justice but thus series is probably going to be my second favourite

roll on book 4

another great entry in the series, loving seeing more Ard-lite moments between the anchors or other main characters. and though it goes against stoke of the genre, this listener/reader would like sed to have a minor set back or failure to actually learn from.
and now I have to find another series from Bruce to check out till AO 4 or DD 202.

fantastic narration and great story

another great instalment, brilliantly narrated. Ard is slowly becoming more powerful and the politics of the world expand.

the book continues the story well, but does stumble a little as the groups powers seem to fluctuate to enable plot to happen, with Ard (who can raise mountains) suddenly get into the weeds of fights with basic pirates. by the end he's back to being a human lawnmower of course.

at times the constant wise cracking can feel like he is a tad too irreverent and makes you dislike him as a character, putting others at risk even as he critiques others for doing likewise. however it makes sense for the character. there's less spice in this one, but what there is is very good. I hope the pace picks up to move the meta plot along as I want to see the big bands brought to task!
