Summary

This book is the sequel to Loving Jesse.

My name is Jesse Ryan. I'm 30, single, and raising my nine year-old daughter alone. I'm a construction worker in Arkansas, and when summer rolled around, I knew I needed some live-in help with Scout. That's when September Dawson came back into my world.

She's a beautiful woman now, and a very resourceful one at that. She effectively ambushed a romance that was barely off the ground between me and a neighbor, but she didn't stop there.

Suffice it to say by summer's end, I was hers in every way. Yeah, I get that there's an age difference, but despite my better judgment and solid resolve, the heart wants what the heart wants.

And that brings us to now.

We've managed to keep our relationship discreet, but at the same time, planning our future together. Then we get...the news. Now everything we’ve been planning is suddenly and inexplicably torn from us.

Decisions need to be made, and everyone looks to me to be the one to make them. But how can I make a decision that will be in everyone's best interest, and not tear our hearts to pieces?

Amazing dual narration from Alexander Cendese and Rachelle Williams

What a ride. September's mother is back whose memory is not back yet returned and Jesse is still married to her. Jesse only wants September but she has moved without him knowing. Jesse tracks her down and with Casey his ex who still sticking her nose making friends with Sarah aka Libby. But confess to Jesse that some of her memories are coming back. September is staying with her grandparents after her grandfather had a stroke and she is helping out.
Jess and September have a journey with obstacles included not only themselves but Libby aka Sarah, Casey. This book will have you hooked. We see September take charge of her life, Jesse finally standing up to what he wants. We have plenty of drama, emotions, angst, twists and turns, a roll coaster.

A perfect end to this duet

I was over the moon when this landed on my phone. I loved book 1 - Loving Jesse, and book 2, Forever Jesse has proved to be equally as enjoyable. Following on directly from book 1 we find Jesse doing his best to win over September once and for all. He’s made mistakes, he knows that, it appears that all the cards are stacked against him, he has so many people trying to sabotage his relationship, and to be quite honest, he is a little too trusting and gullible, but his heart is definitely in the right place. September’s all grown up and trying to find her place in the world without Jesse, not an easy task. A sweet and sexy, if not a little corny, story. I loved it. Narration again is by Alexander Cendese and Rachelle Williams. Loved their take on Jesse and September.

Book 2

This is a great second/final book. There were some miscommunication or maybe non communication even. I think Jessie is the best person ever. This story kept my attention the entire time and I love how it played out. The narration was great. This is a different female narrator than in the first book and that threw me off a bit. However they both were great, and I absolutely love everything that Alexander Cendese does. I recommend these two books. You need to listen in order for it to make sense.

Fantastic conclusion!

Woohoo! I am so happy to get the conclusion to this duet! I remember the ending to Sins of September left me needing to know what was going to happen and Andrea Smith pulls out all the stops with this one! We pick up with September gone, thinking it was best for her to distance herself from Jesse. Now that her mom is back, things are going to change. But does it? Her heart still loves Jesse. And his heart yearns for her. Will they find their way back to each other? Smith writes this taboo story pulling out all the stops. We still have the vindictive next door neighbor, and now we have the meddling in-laws and let's feel sorry for wife. I was taken in, wondering how it would all turn out, and the outcome is nothing short of perfect! And while I love September and Jesse, I really love Scout. She has dealt with so much and she shines in this! Loved it, as I do all of Smith's books. Raw feelings, true to life repercussions and love like no other.

Alexander Cendese and Rachelle Williams finish out this duet with a masterful narration. Cendese brings out all of the feels as Jesse. This is a man who knows what he wants, and pulls no punches. Cendese lets us hear it all with his nuances and keeps tugging at our hearts. Williams as September is a great fit, giving her a mature edge with a hint of that naivete that keeps September age appropriate. I loved this team and the way they portrayed the story.

Amazing Ending to the Forbidden Duet! Awesome🎧📚🎧

Jesse and September’s concludes in this second novel of the “Forbidden” series something I have been waiting for since that mind-mind blowing ending of the first book, “Loving Jesse”. I was kind of hating on the author for that ending, but I knew she had her reasons for that ending and that she would do the right thing for these characters in her next book. Well, it was definitely worth the wait, Andrea Smith not only redeemed herself but she went above and beyond with these characters and in the end taking them where they needed to be. With so many obstacles and road bumps, Jess and September’s journey was not an easy one, but in the end, they both got what they wanted and deserved. Those obstacles included not only themselves but Libby aka Sarah, Casey, the witch next door and even Brandon. This beautifully written and plotted story drew me in right from the start, grabbing my attention and captivating it the entire book. It was great to watch how far these characters have come, watching September grow in to her own and take charge of her life, Jesse finally standing up to what he wants and even Scout, who, like her sister, was wise beyond her years. Like the first book, there was never a dull moment, and I loved how everything played out, there was plenty of drama and heartfelt emotions, some angst, twists and turns and a romance that was years in the making, forbidden or not, I say not. Andrea Smith, thank you for another fantastic story and emotional rollercoaster ride, your brilliant mind never ceases to amaze and entertain me.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Andrea Smith cast the perfect narrators to bring her characters and story to life. Alexander Cendese and Rachelle Williams are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that was a perfect fit for that character’s persona, sounding believable and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Alexander Cendese nailed it as Jesse, carefree yet caring, Rachelle Williams played September with perfection. Both were great at performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. You could hear how much heart they put into their performance as they captured the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fantastic listen.
