Summary

A stand-alone paranormal murder mystery inspired by a disturbing true story....

Two years ago, Gloria Cline had the worst night of her life. A music festival deep in the woods near the Porcupine Mountains turned deadly when Gloria and her best friend, Wren, went for a night walk.

Twenty-four hours later, Gloria was found barely clinging to life with a horrific story of being abducted and nearly murdered.

No trace of Wren was ever found.

Today, Gloria has walled herself into a safe world that relies on routine and familiarity. She doesn’t leave her apartment—ever.

But somehow evil has gotten in....

When another young woman vanishes, Gloria realizes her hazy recollection of her own near-murder may hold the keys to finding the woman before she suffers a similar fate.

Don't miss this chilling paranormal murder mystery.

Amazing

with great enjoyment, I've read several of the author's books. So far, this was by far the best. The ending was enormously satisfying!

I loved this book!

I’ve read several books where the main character is agoraphobic. I didn’t sympathize with them. I did sympathize with Gloria. The author gives us just enough information at the beginning to draw our own conclusions as to what caused her agoraphobia, and all blanks are filled in by the end. There’s terror in every room, and the twists keep coming! I’m definitely a new fan!
The narrator was on point - she WAS Gloria, I really enjoyed listening to her.

Keeps you listening.

I loved this book from beginning to end! There were no slow moments like there have been in many books I’ve listened to. The characters and their actions were described so well and the narrator was phenomenal! You won’t be disappointed. I hope you have Elizabeth Phillips narrate more of your stories.

Suspense and Horror perfected

This riveting tale of a girl who suffered from agoraphobia after a traumatic event encounters a ghost and a mystery that threatens to keep her trapped in her mind and home forever. This author has an uncanny way of delivering a suspenseful story sprinkled with horror. I highly recommend!

Invested

I titled this Invested because that’s exactly what I was. I was so invested in this story from beginning to end. The story was phenomenal, but that wasn’t even the best part. The characters! My gosh. And the narrating, I felt like I was watching a movie unfold the entire time. This book really had me. I received an arc copy of this audio in exchange for my honest review so I can say wholeheartedly that this book is worth it’s five stars and I recommend this 100%.

A story both terrifying and relatable

Based on a true story, the terrifying part is that it did happen, could happen to any of us. Hopefully it never does. The story grabs you from the start and never lets go. I was a cheerleader for Gloria straight through. The ending is triumphant and sad. This is not the first J R Erickson book I read, and I am now a fan. The writing is strong and...go read/listen to it. So good.
