Summary

The New York Times best-selling authors of Mrs. Kennedy and Me share the stories behind the five infamous, tragic days surrounding JFK’s assassination, published in remembrance of the beloved president on the 50th anniversary of his death.

Clint Hill will forever be remembered as the lone secret service agent who jumped onto the car after President Kennedy was shot, clinging to its sides as it sped toward the hospital. Even now, decades after JFK’s presidency, the public continues to be fascinated with the Kennedys - America’s royal family. To mark the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination, Hill recounts his indelible memories of those five days leading up to, and after, that tragic day in November 1963. Hill, as Jackie’s guard, experienced those days firsthand. Hill provides a moment-to-moment narration evoking the feelings and emotions behind the images - clearing up the persistent conspiracy misconceptions along the way.

Told movingly by a man who still wishes he could undo it all, Five Days in November is a rare and deeply personal look at the assassination that affected the entire world and changed the United States forever.

Five Days in November

I knew that there would be some repetition here (having previously listened to Mrs Kennedy and Me) but in admiration of the man, I also listened to this understandably far shorter book. As before, Clint’s story is searingly honest, poignant and touching.

The book, in my opinion, is very well read by Jeremy Bobb helping to bring an immediacy to these well known but terrible events.

Fairly good but a little dull

Would you try another book written by Clint Hill and Lisa McCubbin or narrated by Jeremy Bobb?

Yes, I have downloaded Clint Hill's book "Mrs Kennedy and Me" which was great

Who was your favorite character and why?

Clint Hill , because he's one of the few remaining witnesses to the assassination and he was as close as it's possible to get!

How could the performance have been better?

I think the narration was lacking. It was a little dull and monotonous

Could you see Five Days in November being made into a movie or a TV series? Who would the stars be?

No, it would not work unless treated with a really new angle on the Assassination of Kennedy. Something which would compete with Oliver Stone's "JFK" movie.

Any additional comments?

This is one of thousands go books on Kennedy's murder and I quite enjoyed it because of the author's proximity to the president, but maybe it needed a different narrator? I've certainly heard far worse and it wouldn't stop me re-playing it.

unique

Any additional comments?

i have read many many books about kennedy and the assassination. This is unique in that it is a first hand account, so even for people who know a lot about it, i would highly recommend. Given length, obviously not a comprehensive history, but really worthwhile.

With highest respect for Mr Hill

It is stunning to note that Mr Hill was the only agent to react. Particularly since Mr Hill did suffer greatly following this life changing event. This is not the place to debate the assassination. I am not a believer of the single gunman theory which was shoved down the throats of Americans and the world. Even the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza still promotes this theory because it makes money for them. But history matters and truth matters. Now more than ever. Perhaps one day the truth will be revealed.

Five days in November: Five days of U.S. history....

Five days in November is an outstanding comprehensive story of the events that took place on that fateful day in November...Clint Hill was there, an eye witness...saw it all take place...Clint Hill should be remembered as a person of courage & honor...the way he took care of the First Lady, Mrs. Kennedy is honorable...

Amazing Book

This is the only book I have listened to, that I actually found myself overwhelmed with emotion that tears actually fell from my eyes while listening. A very beautifully written and narrated book, of such a tragic day in America’s history.

Best Book With Truthful Storytelling

Loved listening to this book from the first chapter to the last. Very visual descriptions with incredible details about the minute by minute sad moments in JFK's assassination history. Clint is an unsung hero.

Interesting and Informative

I learned details I'd never heard about the trip to Texas and the tragedy in Dallas. I especially found it interesting to hear how Mrs Kennedy planned the funeral. I highly recommend this book.

Sobering…

I was compelled to listen to this even though I knew it would be depressing as hell, and it was! Still, I was 2-months-old when the assassination occurred and I have always been fascinated by it. Somber but important to hear.

Concise and definitive

This is an excellent book. It is as you'd expect from a Secret Service agent: thorough, yet "to the point". In particular, I think everyone, from the casually interested to the conspiracy theorist, needs to listen to the epilogue....and then listen AGAIN....with the understanding that it isn't a mistake, coincidence, or conspiracy that the words "listen" and "silent" share the exact same letters.
