About this listen

'Sharp, swoon-worthy, and profoundly romantic - First Time Caller is brimming with heart' - LYLA SAGE author of DONE AND DUSTED

A hopeless romantic meets a demoralized radio host in this cosy,
Sleepless in Seattle inspired love story from fan-favourite author of the LOVELIGHT series, B.K. Borison.

Aiden Valentine has a secret: he’s fallen out of love with love. And as the host of Baltimore’s romance hotline, that’s a bit of a problem. But when a young girl calls in to the station asking for dating advice for her mom Lucie, the interview goes viral, thrusting Aiden and Heartstrings into the limelight.

Lucie Stone thought she was doing just fine. She has a good job; an incredible family; and a smart, slightly devious kid. But when all of Baltimore is suddenly scrutinizing her love life—or lack thereof—she begins to question if she’s as happy as she thought. Maybe a little more romance wouldn’t be such a bad thing.

Everyone wants Lucie to find her happy ending. . . even the handsome, temperamental man calling the shots. But when sparks start to fly behind the scenes, Lucie must make the final call between the radio-sponsored happily ever after or the man in the headphones next to her.

Praise for E.J. Bingham and Hathaway Lee:

'Narrators Hathaway Lee and E.J. Bingham delight listeners in this heartfelt contemporary romance . . . Lee's raspy, upbeat voice vividly portrays Lucie's passions and desires, while Bingham's warm tone adds a layer of vulnerability and charm to Aiden' - AudioFile Magazine

Everything you want from a romcom

This book kept me engaged and excited until the end. I love a good build up of a relationship and the storytelling was engaging. Male narrator sounded a little too young (and not scruffy enough for the role) but it didn’t ruin the book( just a weird choice of a voice actor).

Ok but not great

The story is wonderful but the male narrator felt or rather sounded too young, too insecure for what I wanted or felt the story needed. Almost adolescent. Sort of destroyed the story. Should have read this as an ebook or paperback. Disappointed.

Great perfomances and fun story

I love the book. The voice acting performances were wonderful, I especially loved the radio broadcast snippet portions.

Beautifully written and performed!

I really loved this book and the audio performance - I’m not a big fan of dramatised audiobook but love when books have smaller sound effects that just add to the atmosphere of the story and this book did this perfectly. The narrators Hathaway Lee and E.J. Bingham bought the character alive so well!

I really liked the storyline too - there were so many side characters that enhanced the storyline too all the way through. I appreciated the representation of of the different types of relationships throughout the story - Lucie and Grayson co-parenting, Lucie’s friendship with Matteo and the team at the radio (I hope we get a story about Jackson!).

I think my favourite part about the book was Lucie and her outlook. The character could have been bitter about how her life went, but rather she has a positive outlook and doesn’t feel like she’s missing something because she doesn’t have a romantic partner. It felt refreshing that she wasn’t the one actively seeking something but was happy at the opportunity. She felt like a very real person.
