Summary

All I want for my birthday is to find my magic and maybe get my first kiss.

But that’s pretty hard to do when rumors fly around that my girly bits are cursed.

I've lived among witches ever since my mother dropped me off.

That was the last I ever saw of her. I've always felt like I was looking in and never quite belonged.

For most of my life, my aunt cared for me, raised me, and hid me from the world. My world.

Until she can’t anymore.

My mates have found me. All three of them.

If these wolf shifters claim that I am theirs, that can only mean one thing—I’m not a witch, I’m a wolf shifter, too.

How could my aunt have hidden this from me?

How can I go from off-limits, a perpetual virgin, to being handed over to not just one, but three wolves?

For once, I feel like I belong.

Leaving my old life behind seems like a small price to pay for an eternity of happiness.

Phenomenal Narration!

First Comes Wolves is a fantastic start to the Howling for Her series, a fabulous Paranormal, Fated Mate, Shifter Reverse Harem romance. My attention was captured as soon as the book started. Fiona felt lonely and lost for most of her life. Then her life takes a drastic turn after meeting her three mates, Drake, Aiden and Noah. The guys are great, uniquely appealing, and attractive. Fiona grows out of her shell as the guys do everything they can to woo her. The drama and twists in the story made it even more enjoyable. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.

Loved the narration! The book is performed by five talented narrators. It was great hearing all the points of view preformed by a different narrator; it literally made the story come to life. First Comes Wolves is wonderfully written with outstanding narration, one I'll certainly recommend.

Slow burn 🔥

This audio of this book gives it more life. The innocent and confused MC makes her more catching and relatable than naive as some stories can do to the MC like this. Yes this book will give you some smut but even though they are mates it’s a bit slow burn too. The story leaves you wondering what will happen next and leaves you with more questions you need answers to.

My Thoughts on First Comes Wolves

I absolutely loved this start of a new paranormal romance series. It has shifters and witches and reverse harem. All kinds of goodness wrapped up in one story. I loved the way the story was written giving me a little peek into everyone’s mind. I got to really connect with all four of the main characters this way even if most of the chapters were in Fiona’s point of view. I certainly wasn’t complaining. But after everything was said and done and the last word of the story was done, I am even more excited to see what comes next then I was going into it the book. All of the narrators did a great job with their performances. I was happy that each character POV got their own narrator and voice and while a couple of them were new to me I found myself enjoying all of it.

Fated Mates Shifter Romance

First Comes Wolves by Michelle Ziegler is a fated mates wolf shifter romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Sarah Puckett, Jay Alder, Tom Haire, Tim Paige, and Jason Lasky. This is the first book in the Howling For Her series.

This is the first book of Michelle's that I have read and it won't be my last. I am loving the instant connection between Fiona and her fated mates Aiden, Noah, and Drake. I really enjoyed getting all of their points of view throughout the book.

The book left me with a lot of questions so I can't wait to jump into the next book Second Comes Fate.

Sarah, Jay, Tom, Tim, and Jason did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like fated mates, wolf shifters, and reverse harem romances.

Secrets

This was a good start to what will likely be a very interesting story, it’s hot and full of secrets and treachery.
Overall I enjoyed the performance, but the voice of Aidan just grated on my ears 😬 all the rest were perfect.

Great narration!

First off, I actually loved the diversity in narrators. The narrators was so good!!

I enjoyed this Paranormal Reverse Harem romance.

Fiona was an amazing heroine and Aiden, Noah, and Drake grew on me as well.

Fiona's snarky and smart character appealed to me a lot.

This was a new to me Author and I definitely enjoyed this one

Frustrated

Frustrated

This story had a great start but I was SO EFFING FRUSTRATED with the lack of information.
Every time a question was asked.. it was always, let's talk about it once you shift. No one explained what her role was (but they were mad she didn't already know). They never explained WHY they were trying to protect her, or from what.

Fiona is a steaming pile of nada! She is immature af (NOT because she's a virgin) she is just DUMB!! She asks a question, is brushed off, now she's angry and ooh he's so hot.. she no longer cares.
You are a 22 year old that JUST MET 3 guys and they are giving you ZERO information about YOU and you're like, okay they will tell me later.

I was NOT a fan of pushing her to mate yet SAYING you're being patient.
1- the girl is a virgin.. but not just in sex.. with kissing, touching EVERYTHING!!
2-there are THREE OF YOU!!!
3-mates or not, you are strangers. She didn't grow up in your culture she doesnt know/expect/believe fated mates yet
4- you haven't even explained that you are basically turning FERAL without being mated.
It's pushy as fvck and no one even considers having a CONVERSATION with this sentient being (Fiona) and explaining why the urgency.

Drake seemed like a complete jerkface, until they mated. Then I realized he was literally losing his sanity without his mate so his attitude made sense. Now he's the bug gruff alpha and I can dig that.

I honestly was going to DNF this book around 78% but FINALLY pieces of information was trickling in. I don't expect all secrets to be revealed instantly.. but give me a reason to WANT to know more.

I will read the second book because I'm curious. This book should definetly go back through an editor too.

Promising start

Taken in by her aunt when she was young, Fiona has never really fit in. She's a witch with no magic. On her birthday, the reason for that becomes apparent when her 3 true mates show up—her wolf mates. Someone has been keeping secrets from her. Her new mates are everything Fiona never knew she wanted, and although she has much ot learn about her new life as a wolf, she has never felt more at home. Yet something is still missing.

This is a promising start to the series but it could be tweaked. It's typical to have insta-love/lust in wolf shifter books but it's important to have firmly developed characters before the first meeting. The guys could have been better developed. It's vital to know and care about the characters since there will generally be no relationship development in this genre. The storyline is solid. Subterfuge, danger, and unknown enemies interfere with what should be a happy time between Fiona and her men. It did fall short once they arrived at the wolf community. How did the pack react to Fiona? Was she welcomed, shunned, or disrespected due to her upbringing? Specifically, how did the women react? Did they embrace her or was their jealousy too much? Why did we not spend any real time with the guys fulfilling their roles in the pack? Meet any of their top members? Layering detail and creating side characters elevate a book from average to exceptional. I look forward to adding depth to the next book.

As always, Sarah Puckett is pure excellence as a narrator. Her voice and delivery are perfect for Fiona and the other smaller female roles. It was ambitious to hire different males for the guys. I applaud the effort. Jay Alder, Tom Haire, Tim Paige, and Jason Lasky each voice one of the guys. I wish I knew which narrator did each character so I could critique them individually. Since I couldn't find it listed, I will say, I loved Drake, Liked Nick, thought Aiden was okay and disliked some of the delivery of Noah. I know the narrator wanted Noah to sound intelligent and sensible but he sounded almost creepy to me which doesn't fit the character at all.

Entertaining!

This was my first Michelle Ziegler's book. This is the first book in the Howling for Her series, a Paranormal RH Romance. Fiona's fated mates Aiden, Noah, and Drake come to claim her on her birthday. Fiona is sassy and smart. Her men are handsomely alpha, possessive, and protective. The chemistry is sizzling hot. The storyline is entertaining, funny, steamy, and intriguing. The cast of narrators is impressive and they did a fantastic job with the narration. Looking forward to listening to Second Comes Fate, the second book in the series.

🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

First Comes Wolves, in my opinion, is a good start to a paranormal series. Fiona grew up thinking she was a witch who didn't have powers but SURPRISE! She's actually a wolf shifter that has 3 mates. I liked how FCW was not the normal shifter mates insta love where they had to claim each other the instant they find each other. I liked how the men waited until Fiona knew she wanted them completely before they mated with her.

For the most part I did enjoy the narrators but I felt like the narrator that voiced Aiden had a whiny quality to his voice. Other than that I had nothing else that I thought was wrong with the story! I am glad I have the second story so I can immediately jump to it!

Good Start to Series!

This was my first Michelle Ziegler book and the first one in this series.  Fiona lives with her aunt and thinks she is a witch with no powers until her shifter mates, Aiden, Noah, and Drake, come to claim her on her birthday. Fiona is very surprised about this and the mates are also surprised to find out that she doesn’t know that she is a wolf shifter. They are very handsome, possessive, and protective and can’t wait to start their lives with her. After some time, she decides to go home with them and their story begins.  This was a very steamy story. I also found some funny times and some mysteries that need to be solved.  There is a lot left unanswered, so I can’t wait to listen to the next book in this series.  All of the narrators did a great job with the book.  #AudiobookObsession #TheFlock #PinkFlamingoProductions

First Comes Wolves

I love shifter stories and this was a good one. Fiona is a magic less witch that gets surprise on her 22nd birthday. I enjoyed the story, pacing, and personality of each of the main characters. The naration was good and i love when we get to hear multiple narrators. #audiobookobsession

First time reader of Michelle Zeigler and I was not disappointed. This book is about the main finding out who she is and learning there is more to life then she know. The crew of Narrators did an amazing job with this book.

First Comes Wolves

I enjoyed this listen. The book jumps right off into solid story with no real background or history of any of the characters or world and it's a little jarring, but easily bypassed since you are immersed in the story so quickly. The only real drawback to that was that it took me a little longer to be vested in our FMC. Love the guys. Good group dynamic, and just adore Noah. Narration was spot on, now off to listen to the second book!

good palate cleanser

I listen to this on audible and the voices were really good! The story in all way a cute fast read. It has an interesting story but there wasn't much depth to it. It moved rather quickly and I didn't get a chance to actually care about the characters. But a good palate cleanser
