Story
Fatima, Farah, Bubblee and Mae, the four sisters of the Amir family, are sometimes tired of being the only Muslim young women in a rural British village, not helped by their eccentric neighbours, including the hippie nudists next door. Oldest sister Fatima - or, as her family have always nicknamed her, Fatti (which, she worryingly suspects, has just as much to do with her inability to lose weight and guilty-pleasure love of Primula squeezy cheese as it does her birth name) - is having a particularly hard time finding her place in the world.

In this heartfelt, funny, touching memoir, Tan France, star of Netflix’s Emmy award-winning Queer Eye, tells his origin story for the first time. With his trademark wit, humour and radical compassion, Tan reveals what it was like to grow up gay in a traditional South Asian family, as one of the few people of colour in South Yorkshire. He illuminates his winding journey of coming of age, finding his voice (and style!) and happily marrying the love of his life - a Mormon cowboy from Salt Lake City.

Story
This is my story, from a crumbling apartment in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to the stage in New York City, and beyond. This is the path I took to finding my purpose and my strength, but also to finding my voice in a world that didn't always see me. As I wrote Finding Me, my eyes were open to the truth of how our stories are often not given close examination. They are bogarted, reinvented to fit into a crazy, competitive, judgmental world. So I wrote this for anyone who is searching for a way to understand and overcome a complicated past, let go of shame and find acceptance.

Triangles have a strong base; they're hard to knock-over and always retain their own shape, even when they grow. With her incomparable sense of humour and fun, Lilly explains how she has put the ethos of the triangle to work in her own life, and shows how you can do the same.

When Jo Brand hosted Have I Got News For You late last year, her calm explanation of the effects of sexism on women to a bemused all-male cast turned into a viral phenomenon. There has been a whole tradition of books over hundreds of years where a father shares his wisdom with his son - started by Lord Chesterfield in the 18th century - while women have been silent (aka bullied into thinking their advice wasn't worth writing down). This book puts a stop to all that.

For a long time, I felt that I couldn't write this book. At first, I didn't think I'd lived enough, then life got busy and filled with distractions. In more recent years, there was always a very painful consideration - I knew where it would eventually have to go. I have recently decided that the truth is the only thing that can set me free. The truth has taken a long time to make itself clear to me, but now is the right time to share it, all of it. Television and broadcasting has been a part of my DNA for as long as I can remember.

In this, her first ever book, Claudia invites us all into her world. This is a memoir with a difference (owing to its lack of a plot - genuinely, how do people do that?) and Claudia shares her observations on topics such as the importance of melted cheese, why black coats are vital, how it's never okay to have sex with someone who has an opinion on your date outfit, how nurses are our most precious national treasure and why colourful clothing is only for the under 10s (if you're reading this sporting a bright red jumper and you're nine, great! If you're older, sorry).

We all have a longing to be significant. We want to make a contribution, to be a part of something noble and purposeful. But many people wrongly believe significance is unattainable. They worry that it's too big for them to achieve. That they have to have an amazing idea, be a certain age, have a lot of money, or be powerful or famous to make a real difference. The good news is that none of those things is necessary for you to achieve significance and create a lasting legacy.

Summary
Funny, heart-wrenching, generous, and true, in Finding My Voice, Nadiya Hussain, shares the unforgettable memories and experiences that have made her the woman she is today.
I am writing this for everyone who was told no. 'No, you are not rich enough. No, that is not credible. No, you can't. No, you won't. No, you are not allowed. No, that is not appropriate.'
I was told, 'No, you do not belong.'
Finally, I am saying, 'Yes, I do.'
From the moment Nadiya Hussain was born, she has been questioning her role in life. But the irony is, she never wanted to be a trailblazer. She just wanted to follow a 'normal' path. But life kept telling her 'you can't'.
And so she found her own way, beyond anything she dared to dream....
In this wise, witty, open-hearted book, Nadiya, lets us into her life and, for the first time, shares the memories and experiences that have shaped her into the woman and role-model that she is today, alongside her personal recipes and the stories they tell.
Critic reviews
"A revelatory honest read.... She writes with clear-eyed insight.... There's no doubt that the book will make an impact and enable young girls to question the boxes society places them in and to dream bigger than the previous generation thought possible." (YOU Magazine)

Such an inspiring book!
Amazing book. Really cleverly written and thus easy to follow. Nadiya touches on some difficult topics but does this with beautifully written words. I didnt follow Nadiya's journey on bake off but when I saw her documentary on her mental health struggles I thought i'd try her book, I'm not disappointed. I feel this book is needed to show fellow Indian women that we have a voice and that it can be heard. Our life experiences make us stronger individuals and we should wear each obstacle as a badge to symbolise us overcoming them. I have recommended this book to all of my friends and family and will re-listen whenever I need that boost. Love it!

I recommend this book to all women, Nadiya’s book anyone woman can relate to. She talks of little snippets of her past, trials and tribulations. Her experience, at some point every woman has experienced and gone through at least once. The message is that we are strong women, everything we’ve been through, we’re still standing!! We have a voice and we need to use it!! Wonderfully written, real, warm, sad, funny and uplifting. I loved it

Great Book
I love this book. It shows the side of Nadiya you don’t see in her shows. You would never have guessed all the issues she’s grown up with, from sexual abuse to sexism in her family and culture to anxiety and mental heath. The only problem I have with this audiobook is that sometimes Nadiya doesn’t pause between two different paragraphs of text and it can be a little confusing. This is the best memoir I’ve ever read.
