Summary
Needing a change of scene, Griffin Burke moves from Brisbane to Coolum Beach to start a new job. The beautiful white sand, aqua-colored ocean, blue skies, and summer breezes are everything he longs for. What he finds is a mud-covered dog, lost and hungry, with a name tag and a phone number.
Dane Hughes is stuck in Surfers Paradise at a week-long work conference when he gets a phone call from his distraught mother. His dog, his fur baby, Wicket, has run away. Unable to leave and feeling helpless and miserable, he gets a text from a guy. "I think I found your dog..."
Griffin and Dane start talking, and Griffin agrees to look after Wicket until Dane can collect him. With a few days left before his new job starts, Griffin takes Wicket on some coastal adventures and sends Dane photos of their fun, and so the start of something new and kind of wonderful begins.
Griffin might have moved to Coolum in search of a new life, but what he finds is so much more. What he gets to keep just might take some four-legged help.

cheesy
I guess I should have read the blurb before listening. It was cheesy, on a cheese cracker with a dollop of cheese spread out of a can on top. That doesn't mean that it was bad, just know what to expect. Not my cup of tea, I'm more of an aged Sardinian pecorino myself.

Sweet Romance
A sweet and sexy romance by N. R. Walker. Joel Leslie's narration made it even better.

N.R.Walker at her best.
A gentle story brilliantly narrated by Joel Leslie. This is one of my top three N.R. Walker stories

Not bad
I was half way through the second chapter when I realised I had already read this book, but as with a lot of N. R. Walker's books, it is good enough to hold my attention on a reread. I love this story, it is a real romance from start to finish, there are no outside events conspiring to keep them apart, it is just a tale of how they meet, get to know each other and figure out what they mean to each other.
Great side characters in Bernice and K, to provide light relief and be a sounding board for the guys and of course Wickett the star.
I don't mind Joel Leslie, some favourite audiobooks are narrated by him so his voices are very familiar but I think he struggled with this one. I recognized Griffin and Dane's voices as ones from previous books however they were not as consistent, varying between one or two of his other character accents. I think however, contrary to other reviews, it is the writing which makes it hard to distinguish between who is talking sometimes, as I remember it happened in the book. I am also not a fan of his female voices in general. Apart from those niggles, he did an excellent job and I was fully immersed in the story and his characters and enjoyed it very much.

What a sweet story
This book was adorable. I loved both Griffin and Dane, and of course Wicket who just made this book what it was.
