About this listen
The course of Frank Mackey's life was set by one defining moment when he was 19. The moment his girlfriend, Rosie Daly, failed to turn up for their rendezvous in Faithful Place, failed to run away with him to London as they had planned. Frank never heard from her again. Twenty years on, Frank is still in Dublin, working as an undercover cop. He's cut all ties with his dysfunctional family. Until his sister calls to say that Rosie's suitcase has been found.
Frank embarks on a journey into his past that demands he re-evaluate everything he believes to be true.

Outstanding. Faithful Place is a first class tale
...of gripping thrills, mixed emotions, horror, family complexities and murder on an epic scale. Told with sensitivity. Great narration.
Every corner sent chills through my heart and retold much of my childhood. Fair play to you for a cracking story and disturbing my sleep!

Excellent Story
This is an excellent story gripping till the end but I had to drop a star because of the bad language it's not necessary, most of the dialogue is made up of bad language and I just want to point out there are other words that can be used and would have made it more enjoyable to listen to.

Brilliant
This book was so good I didn't want it to finish. I miss the voice of Gerry O'Brien now. He was wonderful to listen to. The story was great. I wish I could listen to it again as new.

Faithful place
A brilliant book . I absolutely lioved it . I sort of guessed the outcome but it didn't matter as I just loved listening to the witty comments and expressions which sometimes made me laugh out loud. A book full of wit, sadness and complicated family relationships . I have just downloaded another book by the same author .

Great Reader
Gerry O Brien is one of the best audio book readers, but the book didnt grab me half as much as Broken Harbour. It started well, but I found the family a bit tedious after a while, although the characters were well rounded and well written, the plot failed to surprise.

Would absolutely recommend
Really satisfying, and long for all the right reasons. One of the best narrators I’ve heard so far. A lovely voice and his different intonations made it easy to follow.

Patchy but worth a listen
The story was a bit patchy and it needed more pace at times. But, I kept on wanting to see how things turned out.
The narrator was good until he narrated in a woman’s voice. It was a bit over stylised - I’d rather he had not put on a fake woman’s voice.

Beautifully written
So far, I've listened to this book three times, and enjoyed each listen immensely. I've been transported to Dublin each time, and Gerry O'Brien's narration has helped tremendously. Frank's dysfunctional family is really well depicted; the family scenes are so well written, I've honestly felt like I've been in the middle of it all, thanks to Tana French's quality writing.
So worth a listen, I can't recommend this book highly enough!
