Very useful book.

A very useful primer on the basics. Easy to follow with plenty of examples. Narrator slightly irritating as he doesn't pronounce the "t" in "pot odds" which begins to grate during the chapter on pot odds. Other than that a great book.

As if you are in the classroom again

I was very curious how a topic as Poker Math Essentials can be learned from an Audio Book.
Although I have read about several of these topics before, this is the first time I think I get it.

It felt to me if I was forced to focus (listen carefully) which helps to visualize the cards on the table and follow the maths.
Each topic starts with an explanation and is brought to live with several examples and the more diffult topics are explained several times.

Listening to this book is a very time effective way to learn about Poker Math Essentials.

Now I understand finally how to move to a playing style which is profitable in the long run based on rational decisions (Poker Maths).

Thanks Alton

Essential material!

Was a bit skeptical first because i never learned using an Audio book before, i always thought having a ordinary book was way better but this changed my mind! Having to visualize what is being teached helped me so much in my development as a poker player.

I always struggled with Math but this made it stick so much better. The narrator has a really clear and easy to listen to voice, even for someone who's first language is not English. The book is only 2hrs 20 mins long but everything is explained in a easy to follow calm tone.

This is a must buy for all poker players, if you are new, struggling or have been playing many years everybody can get something out of this book!

Once again a really good publication by Alton, again one with allot of replay value for many years to come!

Learning poker math in the bath, and car :D

Hi.
This poker audiobook has been just what I needed!
I bought Altons course "Essential Poker Math for No Limit Holdem" on Udemy, which has been really helpful for me to implement maths into my poker play. And this audiobook was what I needed when I drive in the car to and from work, and even when I'm in the bath. I usually listen to poker podcasts but I find that a lot of the info repeats its self. This has extended my poker plays and will extend it even more.
Thank you Alton!

An Essential Introduction

Alton manages to squeeze a lot of concepts into this Audio book which is around 2hrs 20 mins long, so its great for those who have limited time but want to implement basic poker math into their poker game.

This version of the audio book is meant as a short bare bones introduction to Poker Math, an expanded version also exists for those wanting further detail.

Having casually played Poker for a number years some of the content, such as Pot Odds and Expected Value were quite familiar to me.

That said it's always a good idea to brush up on your fundamentals, and Alton does a great job of presenting them in a clear and easy to understand way.

I like that all these basic concepts are in one handy place

The book also covers some concepts I hadn’t heard of before for such as Stack to Pot Ratios (SPRs) as well as Combinatorics which are all the possible hand combinations of any two cards in a deck.

Again Alton explains this concepts in a concise easy to understand manner

All in all I would recommend this Audio book to the causal Poker enthusiast wishing to step up their poker game .

Nice package of basic math concepts in poker

Very good introduction to poker math with clear reading voice. I really liked how concepts were explained and the example hands gave practical viewpoint on how to start practicing them.
There are the essentials but if you are familiar with basic stuff, the Extended edition of this book should dive much deeper into math world of poker so think twice which you get. book only takes under 2,5 hours to finish but it's a nice package of information.
