Excellent story good narration
This is an excellent story, one I remember reading long ago. The characters are well described, the setting is atmospheric and the premise is good. The narration is good but the female voices are a bit weak. Overall this an enjoyable listen.

Tiresome and a big t trashy
I actually got to the end, and a couple of days later can barely remember any strengths this novel may have had. All I remember is the trashy side - the “oh no, not heaving passions and bare chests and blah blah” stuff.
This is one of the most lightweight recipes for candy to serve to sugar-holics- people who want fantasy and sex (you cannot call it romance). There must be a lot of needy readers out there! My first Norah Roberts and my last.
The narrator was good, however.

Where's the Irish
What disappointed you about Enchanted?
Why didn't you finish the series with the same narrator? Therese Plummer did an excellent job on the first 2 books. If I had read this one first I'd never have read the other books in the series!
Would you be willing to try another book from Nora Roberts? Why or why not?
I enjoy Nora Roberts books, I don't always like the narrators.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Alexander Cendese?
Therese Plummer
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I liked the story ... it was the narrator that ruined it.

Awful narration
The narrator is horrible. He reads the female lead in a way that brought to mind teenage boys making fun of how they think girls talk. I couldn't take more than 15 minutes before deleting it from my library. Just awful!

Just ok
Not really related to the other Donovan books, and was a little fanciful even for my taste. The narrator takes some getting used to as well, overall I would pass and opt for the earlier Donovan books or a different series altogether.

Disappointing
Would you try another book from Nora Roberts and/or Alexander Cendese?
I'm a fan of Nora Roberts latest works since Witness and I love her TV movies but this book was way off. As for the narrator, I will never get a book narrated by him again. Just awful.
What do you think your next listen will be?
A Robert B. Parker Spenser for Hire novel.
What didn’t you like about Alexander Cendese’s performance?
He was trying to sound like a fragile woman and sounded more like a flighty 15-year old girl. A grown woman does not sound like that not even an insecure one. Even his male character voice was just harsh and univiting. This was more a romance novel than mystery mixed with romance and the male lead has to have at the very least a voice and tone that draws you in and his didn't.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Only at the end when the main character realized she wasn't some high school student and actually exhibited the strength and inner character that I've come to know in Nora Roberts books.
Any additional comments?
This book seemed unnecessary to the trilogy. The way he used his powers is completely against the families honor of their gifts. The idea that him entering her dreams and raping her was somehow romantic was just disturbing to say the least, sick to say the most. This is one novel that should've stayed on Nora's laptop.

Disappointing end to a magical series!
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
No idea.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Linda Fairstein, Terminal City
Which scene was your favorite?
The first one. I was thrilled to be listening to another Donovan Legacy book. The first 3 books in the series were fanciful, fabulous, and pulled you (happily) into another world.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Enchanted?
All of them!
Any additional comments?
I am a huge Nora Robert's fan. But alas, this is my least favorite NR book. I waited to be entertained, but completed the book before that happened. This book seemed to have been hastily thrown together because fans wanted to read more about the Donavans, not because there was a story to tell. Sigh...
