If anyone is uneasy or cannot manage their feelings in a calm manner this is a great way to regulate your behavior. Kids can practice these steps more and more in order to handle the changes of their environment as they come. Our feelings will always be required so we need to be able to talk calmly like the author stated. We all need to learn how to talk to someone in order for these waves to move everything outside of ourselves so we dont bottle it up. I like how the author covered to play. SO many children spend so much time indoors they can't imagine doing something outside, or invent a game. With these pointers kids can become calm, develop the confidence to understand sad days will pass and theres always something to smile about.
