Summary

Sentado junto a una ventana con vistas a un lago cuyas aguas indefinidas, letárgicas, pusilánimes e indecisas le parecen fiel imagen de aquellos que, esperando su muerte, lo rodean en su retiro, el juez Casaldáliga ya no recuerda aquella frase que su padre le repetía: «Has de tener bien presente que un hombre no es nada sin un destino». Un destino que él buscó durante mucho tiempo, hasta que, en 1939, al regresar después de un exilio de tres años en Lisboa, vio claro que el final de la guerra le brindaba una oportunidad para decidir no sólo su destino, sino también el de sus semejantes.
