Summary

In 1993 Harry Bosch was assigned the case of a missing person, Marie Gesto. The young woman was never found - dead or alive - and the case has haunted Bosch ever since.

Thirteen years later Bosch is in the Open Unsolved Unit when he gets a call from the DA's office. A man accused of two killings is willing to confess to several other murders in a deal to avoid the death penalty. One of his victims, he says, is Marie Gesto. Bosch begins to crack when he realises he and his partner missed a clue back in 1993 which could have prevented the nine murders that followed the killing of Marie Gesto.

Classic Harry Bosch

A great crime thriller from the master of suspense. As always Harry is a flawed policeman who is frequently on the edge of the thin blue line in his pursuit of the mission. This is a particularly well put together example in the series. The narrator Len Cariou as always does a great job and brings the characters to life.

Another great Harry Bosch tale

I love Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch books and this is no exception. A riveting story, brilliant narration from Len Cariou and mentions of previous cases or people which, if you have listened to the previous audiobooks, make you feel like an insider in what is going on. Superb

Another winner from Harry Bosch ...

I always enjoy Bosch adventures. Love Lou Cariou's (hope I spelt that right) narration - spot on.

Another Great story from my Favourite Detective

Enjoyed every page, so many twists and turns. Having seen the Bosch TV series there are segments that are familiar but don't spoil the overall story.

Good

Good story line, great narration, entirely spoilt by idiotic, totally unnecessary music interjections, and a serious distraction whilst driving,I will be returning this book for that reason alone, shame

Another serious page-turner from Connelly 😊

I have read all of the Bosch books… I can’t honestly rate any as his best. But there is one line from Lost Light that remains in my memory. It is spoken by Roy Lindell.. “..you (speaking about Bosch) have always been a Private Investigator, even while you were a cop.”]

Bosch has a dark side… to say the least.

The Bosch books just get better and better

Excellent story. Always a pleasure to hang out with Harry Bosch. Just finished this one. I’m going to write this review. And then immediately buy the next one. Great narrator too. If you love smoky LA, freeways and shadows, you love this.
