Not an e collar book
There’s mention of e collar use in here but it does not go over to to properly use it. There was no introduction phase, no conditioning, teaching the dog how to escape the sensation and etc. It doesn’t even go over what level you should use until the last chapter of the book which is the QnA section which states to use the lowest possible level. Throughout the book it was simply “use your e collar”. A lot of random information for a book that is title e collar training step by step. Nothing about this is step by step. Made a whole chapter just talking about different dog breeds. A lot of random real life situations that doesn’t really match what he was trying to teach. He keeps mentioning about taking your dogs to classes/schools. I’m pretty sure the reason people are reading this is so they can do it themselves “step-by step”. He then went on a tangent and discussed the 4 levels of obedience training classes which is totally irrelevant. Also started talking about agility classes in the advanced training chapter. Non of this is actual step by step training. Even his basic step by step training teaching sit down stay is super broad. This was a really hard book to listen to. I find my self zoning out 90% of the time because the information was so irrelevant.
If you are trying to introduce your dog to an ecollar, I think the book ‘the art of training your dog’ has a clearer step by step guide.

Wrong Title
Very small percentage of this book was about the e-collar. Even though I did go through the book in its entirety, i was not able to find but three step by step examples. Certainly not what I expected.

This audio book should be for any dog owner!!
Instructions by Paul Davis are clear and easy to follow. He's a dog lover and it shows. His techniques are not extreme, he's content with the dogs he's dealing with and looking for fun. I can't wait to try more dogs on this!

The best trainer I have ever met
I like the simple E-Collar explanation. It is important to understand how to use it to help the dog achieve behavior that keeps him safe and makes him a stress-free family member.

I would have preferred the author to have elaborated with his suggestions on training. The narrator was very good and made listening to the audio book that much more enjoyable. All in all a good listen...

Important content is this audible.
An excellent content audio guidebook from the Author. I really wanted to buy a puppy so I can have a new buddy at home but we all know that it’s also a big responsibility. It gave me the training techniques and tips I needed, also it thought me how to potty train the puppy.
