Annoying music
I really didn't like the music in between chapters, it creates less suspense and ruins it

A great storyline but fatally flawed for me
I’ve been working my way through the Alex Cross audiobooks and really loving them - great characters and great storylines, including this one.
On the last book ‘Cross’ I noticed the annoying inclusion of short clips of mood music... and then there’s the fact that sometime during 2005, the author clearly got sponsored by Mercedes as the descriptions of his new car read like an advert.
Double Cross comes across more like a radio play with two readers and more mood music - also more Mercedes adverts. I within an hour of the end of the book but actually gave up because the narrator’s English accent was so appalling that I found it literally unbearable - I’ve never given up on an audiobook before but this one has me beat - and it’s a real shame.

Really poor
Just a nonsensical series of pointless killings, no rhyme or reason. The whole thing was daft, no drama or suspense. The characters were not particularly well drawn, I just feel that I have wasted 8 hours on rubbish.

Why ruin it with musical interludes
Story was as good as they always are but why ruin a good book with musical interludes, the previous ones have been much better

Music!!!!!
As usual I loved the story but what’s with the addition of music to the narration? Terrible.

Really annoying background music
First Alex Cross that has had background music at certain times during the reading.
It’s really distracting and spoils the overall performance.

Another Hit Thriller spoilt by Musical Interferenc
I have listened to a number of the Alex Cross stories and I have just finished this one. The story was good, even if the ending was a little abrupt. What spoilt it for me was the inclusion of atmospheric music and a change of narrator. I have thoroughly enjoyed Garrick Hagon's performance and did not feel the narration on this one was quite as good. Whoever decided to start adding the music should be shot ! The narrator should be able to build intensity in to the story without the need for terrible musical interference. There, I have got that off my chest now !!

Double Cross
The use of two narrators is an improvement. Terrible English accent, a cross between Irish and Mancunian! The Morgan Freeman soundalike forces my mind to only see him in the character. I don’t understand breaking the narrative with so many chapters, that doesn’t help continuity. Overall the series is very enjoyable.

the annoying random music!
The annoying random music ruins what otherwise would be a mediocrestory. ! Alex Cross is once again mostly thinking with the appendage between his legs. James Patterson writes thrillers really well. Unfortunately he's dreadful at writing anything remotely romantic. It taints this series so far.
