Summary

Lady Annalyse Granville is a cursed second-born twin. Because of superstition and fear that a second-born twin is naught but a spawn of the devil, she's been sent to live with the nuns. However, she returns to her father's castle at Christmastime at her sister's request. Her sister is the king's mistress and very pregnant with his baby. And what happens during Annalyse's visit changes her life forever.

Ross Douglas has managed to get betrothed to an English lassie, having alternative motives in his head because of his hatred for the English king. But when he spies an innocent maiden standing under the kissing bough, he knows he has to kiss her.

Can one kiss change a man's life? What happens that Christmas changes everyone's lives in ways they could never expect.

A good listen

This is a really quick read that sets the back drop for a series about triplets who are the bastard son's of the King of England but are raised by a Scott.
Ross Douglas plans to trick the Kings pregnant mistress to marry him and whisk them away before the King finds out what he is up to. All good plans go astray and this one goes so wrong yet it turns out brilliant for Annalyse the second born twin to the King's mistress. This is a good book I recommend reading this before the others in the series

Good short story

Enjoyed this short story. This is the prequel to the series of Legendary of the Bastards of the Crown. Brian Gill is a good narrator and changes his voice for the different characters. Definitely worth a credit. Now on to the next one.

Destiny’s Kiss

This audible book is an introduction of the series Legendary Bastards of the crown. It tells how the triplets were born and what happened to them. The Mother of the babies died and her twin sister brought her babies up. An excellent start to the beginning of the series. The narration was excellent. Thank You Miss Rose for penning this lovely book.

Great Beginning

This is a love story that begins as a means to revenge and ends, defying superstition and the kings order, with the rescue of three tiny boys destined to become legendary. The decision Ross and Analyse make that day is the foundation for stories of several generations of adventure, mystery, and romance in The Legendary Bastards of the King, Seasons of Fortitude, and Secrets of the Heart. Fantastic narration by Brian J. Gill. Excellent beginning! Loved it!

Destiny's Kiss

This is a fabulous read that sets the stage for the next three books in the series. At first I wasn't going to bother to read, but I'm so very glad I did!!! Great characters, well developed that complement and establish the plot and continuing saga. Excellent prequel!

Cute "Pre-Teen" romance.

This was well written and a cute story. I'm not sure about getting any other books that are going to come out in this series. Whereas I enjoyed the story, there was no...I mean no steam. More like a like warm bath from three Jr. High experience kisses. Maybe this was just because it's only a prequel to the three stories that are going to be about each of the triplet boys. I'll look at those more carefully to see if they are similar to this style of it they become actual romance books with some heat. FYI...I'm not looking for eroticism or porn, but definitely more complete experience than Elementary/Jr. High. I'm passing this on to my 12 year old daughter, she starting to get more interested in reading romance books...perfect for her.

Wonderful!

This is a fantastic story of when King Edward's bastard triplets were born. It was well written and the narration will put you right into the time they were born.

Loved this fated romance story!

Ross - a Scottish lowland that wanted vengeance on king Edward for what he did to his clan
Annalyse- was considered the cursed child because she was the 2nd born twin.
I enjoyed reading/listening to this captivating story. Besides the sadness and some deceit, their story has a loving and complete HEA.
Narrated by Brian J Gill- who did a marvelous job! Great job in in making each character voice sound distinctive and displays the appropriate emotion. 4.5*

Dangerous deceitful vengeance

Ross's plan for vengeance against the king could hurt not only himself but his friends and family. As he secretly changes the kings message to Lord Granville regarding his daughter sets in motion a whole series of events that nobody could have guessed. He meets Annalyse, the cursed second twin sister while kissing her under the kissing bough but is betrothed to her sister Gabrielle or so everyone believes. Gabrielle goes into labor before Ross can marry her and spirit her away although he is having second thoughts as he is beginning to have feelings for Annalyse.

Annalyse and Ross secret the children to Scotland before the king can have them killed and raise them as their own per Gabrielle's request.
