I just love these

I'm working my way through the series and this one is well up to standard. Ric Jerrom is excellent as usual. If you like them, you love them!

Long chase

The long, multi-day chase in this book as they flee a dangerous ship is honestly some of the most compelling fiction I've read in years.

Be warned that this series is prone to jump from scene to scene mid-sentence, which can make following it in audio form a little tougher. But if you have uninterrupted time, these books are great.

Another good one!

This audio book carries on the good work of the others in the series. The ocean going life of Captain Jack continues when he is sent on a mission to Australia but he has to make a lengthy detour after his ship is damaged in action. Ric Jerrom does a great job of narrating and if you like the other books this will not disappoint. I look forward to listening to the next book.

Wonderful

O'Brian's ability to capture the power of the sea and wind as the ships fly down the massive waves is breathtaking.

Superb, O’BRIAN AT HIS BEST.

Ric Jerrom does a magnificent, exciting period sea adventure proud.
Patrick O’Brian evokes the period as no other. All together a wonderful read.

Thrilling story, well read

Couldn't put it down! Although I would advise listening to the series in order (this is book 5).
