Das Opfer, ein junger Mann, Student an der Kunsthochschule, wurde aufgehängt an einem Baum in einem Waldstück gefunden. Fast sieht es so aus, als sei er gekreuzigt worden. Ein Ritualmord? Eine Tat im Affekt? Für beides gibt es Indizien.

Nina Brändle und Xaver Finkbeiner erfahren, dass es sich bei dem Toten um einen Moslem handelt, dessen Familie aus dem Iran stammt. Angeblich gab es kaum Kontakt zwischen Sohn und Eltern. Dennoch haben sie ihn umgehend als vermisst gemeldet.
