About this listen
Rick's Diner is owned and run by four long-time friends, Rick, Rachel, Logan and Macy. It's a dream life for them, until a mystery comes along. That's when Rachel's sleuthing senses kick in, and when that happens, all heck breaks loose.
Laurel Falls is a sleepy little town in rural North Carolina. New folks have come to town, including Diane, the diner's newest waitress. Grave robbers have moved in and to make matters worse, a dead body has turned up.
Rachel is in the thick of it and she'll solve these mysteries if it kills her. Except that she can't track down the mysterious Mike and now she's being followed. Can she get to the bottom of the graveyard doings? Or find Mike? Or solve the murder? Maybe all these things are linked. Rachel isn't sure about any of it, but she does know that she's pushed Rick too far.

Wow, just loved it!!!!
This is the first book by this author I have read or listened to but it wont be my last, as I loved it and I really hope there are a lot more looks in this series to come. I really like the characters especially the bit about how they all become friends, very funny- you can just imagine it. The mystery was good and I liked the way Rachel wasn't a helpless damsel in distress, that is not to say she didn't get into trouble. Until like most cosy's set in cafe's etc the owner wasn't dashing off every five minutes to track down some clue, leaving the staff to do all the work. She left most of her clue solving until the end of the day or when the café was closed. She also had skills but wasn't afraid to ask for help. All in all a great main character and a great back up team.
Something strange is going on in Laurel Falls, what use to be a sleepy little town where nothing happens has changed over night. First they have digging in the cemetery, then a bank robbery and to top it all off murder. Rachel can't help but get involved, she is a magnet for people in trouble and when her newest pet project and staff member seems to be connect she jumps straight in despite being warned off by her husband and even the sheriff. Can she get to the bottom of this mystery? or should she have listened and stayed out of harms way like a good little woman? Not a chance!!!
I was pleasantly surprised to find Wendy Tremont King was the narrator, as she is one of my favourite readers. If I had noticed that before I started listening I would have got the book purely because she was reading it, as I know she always puts in an excellent performance and the book is bound to be a good one and I was right this time too!!
