Summary

Nel 1929, il manoscritto fu presentato anonimo, e, letto dall’editore tutto d’un fiato, ne fu rintracciato l’autore, che sorprendentmente, si rivelò essere una giovane donna, elegante, figlia dell’alta borghesia russa rifugiatasi a Parigi dopo la rivoluzione. David Golder fu elogiato all’unanimità dalla critica, sia per il tema difficile che per la prosa pura e elegante.
