Die junge Studentin der Ägyptologie Leonie Förster ist überglücklich, als sie mit ihrer Professorin Bettina Völz die Erstuntersuchung einer echten, ägyptischen Mumie durchführen darf. Dabei erfährt sie schmerzvoll, dass nicht alles, was schon lange tot ist, es auch bleibt. Bei der Untersuchung erweckt Leonie die ca. 3.200 Jahre alte Mumie ungewollt zu schrecklichem neuen Leben und diese begibt sich augenblicklich auf die Jagd nach Lebensenergie. Verzweifelt überlegt Leonie, wie sie das Monster aufhalten kann, bevor es zu viele Opfer gibt und die Mumie gar das Ägyptische Museum verlässt und Berlin in ein Blutbad verwandelt. Sie sieht nur eine Hoffnung...
