Wonderful Story, Poorly Told.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

As much as I love these books in their printed form, I was terribly disappointed by this format. While I would gladly recommend this series to a friend in its written form, I would be a poor friend indeed if I inflicted this format on anyone I considered a friend. Unfortunately the narrator spoiled this whole series for me, making the story feel flat, and many of the characters sound ridiculous, or like something from a comic book.

What did you like best about this story?

Again I use the written format to respond to this question, as this format was ruined. The thing I liked best about the stories was the varied characters, and the depth that Gail Z. Martin gave each of them, without spending thirty pages describing them.

What didn’t you like about Gail Z. Martin and Peter Ganim ’s performance?

NOTHING!!

Do you think Dark Lady's Chosen needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I happen to know that two further books were published to round out this series, but as yet are not available in audio format. If they are ever translated into audio, please DON'T allow Peter Ganim to narrate them.

Any additional comments?

This is one of my favorite series, and it was totally ruined by a poor narrator. I freely admit that I am dreadful at reading aloud, but I have the kindness and good grace not to inflict my inadequacies on others
