Summary
When out walking on Arthur's Seat, high above the city of Edinburgh, Rose McQuinn discovers the body of a woman in the ruins of St Anthony's Chapel. But she is astonished that on returning to the scene, there is no evidence of either the victim or the local constable who had taken down Rose's story. Even Rose's would-be lover, Detective Sergeant Jack Macmerry, is doubtful. Edinburgh City Police have no record of a dead woman or of PC Smith. Convinced of what she saw that afternoon, Rose pursues discreet investigations that soon turn into a more dangerous pursuit.

A lady PI, Scotland, winter...great mix for a mystery!
My favorite characters? Thane, the lady investigator, the Scottish winter weather! All well developed and interesting. I wasn't impressed with her cop boy friend but given the fact that the time was per motorized transportation, I guess I really should cut him some slack.
I'm left wondering if she will ever find out what happened to her husband...where does Thane disappear to...when will her copper have the light bulb moment? I hope this is a series! (No, I didn't look to see when I first invested in this book or later!) I can tell you that I like the words! AND the narrator!!!
