About this listen

Following the release of the fifth instalment in the Robert Langdon series, Dan Brown talks to Audible about his long-standing passion for music and modern art and how it contributed towards the creation of Origin.

In Origin, listeners will be reunited with the amiable and courageous Robert Langdon as he travels around Spain in search of answers to the most important existential questions of our time.

In keeping with the series, Origin is a fascinating study of and commentary on the importance of science, religion and art in determining who we are and how we came to be. For the first time, however, and departing somewhat from tradition, the Professor will be looking into cutting-edge modern-day pieces and technology.

We also talk to Dan about why Spain was the right setting for this book and how he was inspired by Gregory W. Brown's composition Missa Charles Darwin.

I wish they'd gone into more topics, taken more time for the interview, perhaps discussing Brown's past works, inspirations, etc.

Anything Dan Brown is excellent to me. I am a huge fan. He is extremely articulate and logical in this interview. The interviewer sounds a bit nonchalant though.

Dan Brown is a great reference for our beloved Robert Langdon, but Holly Newson was awful. Couldn’t you have found anyone better for such interview?

Great Dan Brown, poor interviewer
