Summary
Now you can download the entire Crash Dive Series - here!
Crash Dive: The Complete Series chronicles the adventures of Charlie Harrison as he fights the Imperial Japanese Navy during WW2. Gripping, action-packed, authentic, and filled with larger-than-life men and women of the Greatest Generation, Crash Dive puts you aboard a submarine during the war.
You'll stand alongside Charlie as he proves himself time and again by keeping his wits and being decisive in crisis, though each encounter leaves him more heavily scarred for it. You'll attack a convoy in a daring night surface attack, emerge in a sea fog to ambush a battle group, and charge the battleship Yamato during the decisive Battle of Leyte Gulf. All the while, you'll live with the crew in the cramped, noisy, and challenging machine that was a diesel-electric submarine.
Crash Dive: The Complete Series puts together for the first time all six episodes in Craig DiLouie's highly acclaimed historical military fiction series: Crash Dive, Silent Running, Battle Stations, Contact!, Hara-Kiri, and Over the Hill.

Staggering
Book 1 thru 5 excellent. Book 6, so powerful and emotive.
If you had a moment with Das Boot, go for it.
Some moments of eh as details skip or change. I’ve even learnt about some new places on the planet.
Rc Bray brilliant as ever.

Edge of my seat
This is the best naval war book I have ever encountered. The narration is fantastic making this an absolute rollercoaster that had me glued to my phone.
Do yourself a favour, and listen to this collection.

I was sorry to finish it...
Superb story and narration, especially near the end of the war and eventual surrender of the Japanese.
The postscript of the protagonists' lives after the war was the icing on the cake

Fiction at its best
This is a fictional but none the less thought provoking novel One can only wonder what ghosts the real sailors had to live with during and after the conflict

This is the American answer to Das Boot
This was a masterful telling of the ordeals of some of the unsung heroes from WW2. I'm normally a sci-fi listener but had to follow one of R C Bray's excellent narrations. These stories really opened my eyes to the terrifying ordeal that these brave sub-mariners must have endured against the Japanese Imperial Navy. The series follows the characters struggling with their ancient boats and inferior weapons at the start of the war to their dominance at the end. The chapters are short and punchy but no less exhausting and compelling. I love Craig Diloue's work

Excellent
This is an all encompassing series. Charting the career of the main character throughout his service in submarines. The story was well told, gripping, the characters highly believable and a cracking narrative. It is action throughout. I found the entire series compelling, entertaining and at times thought provoking. Highly recommended.
