About this listen

The reticulated python is the largest and most dangerous of the giant constrictors – documented to swallow humans whole.

But people still keep them as exotic pets.

Frank has raised Buffy from a hatchling. She measures over twenty-four-feet and more than three-hundred pounds. She is Frank's pride-and-joy.

She is also his secret – a black-market purchase, kept illegally – unbeknownst to his neighbors, who might fear for their pets... or their kids.

Especially, if they knew Buffy sometimes escapes her cage.

A python wraps in less than a second – its coils kill in seven minutes.

Then it swallows you whole.

And you never see it coming until it's too late.

I highly recommend this book. The sense of danger throughout never lets up. Really well narrated too. A real rollercoaster of emotions… Plus I love the ending.

I found this so tense I couldn't put it down

An okay time waster about a giant reticulated pet python called Buffy who every now and again escapes from her cage and eats someone. That's about it really. There's no real plot to speak of. Not much in the way of horror, tension or excitement. No characters to care much about. The performance is fine if utterly unremarkable. On the plus side it's quite short and doesn't outlive it's welcome and doesn't demonise the snake or make her out to be evil. She's just a snake doing snake things. If you're a fan of books about killer snakes it's probably worth a one off listen. Everyone else better avoid. I love killer animal books/ films and whilst this is certainly not the worst out there I did fall asleep several times listening to it.

Meh!
