Bittersweet but enjoyable.

This was a lot of listening, the reader became monotone when she narrated the story, but was slightly better for the different characters voices. I found this different to other books by Elizabeth Buchan, there were some unnecessary parts which waffled, maybe with a different narrator would have been more interesting. Overall the storyline was good, I found strength in Mattie's character, with everything she endured, highlighting how one person's decision can set in motion changes which have far reaching effects. The ending was a bit rushed after all the build up. Loved the garden detail woven throughout.
