Summary

Code to Zero is a fast-paced espionage thriller from number one best-selling author Ken Follett, author of the Kingsbridge series.

Three days that could change the world's political landscape....

A man wakes up to find himself lying on the ground in a railway station, his mind stripped bare of all recollection. He has no idea how he got there. He does not even know his own name. Convinced he is a drunken down and out, it isn't until a newspaper report about a satellite launch catches his eye that he begins to suspect all is not what it seems....

The year is 1958, and America is about to launch its first satellite in a desperate attempt to match the Soviet Sputnik and regain the lead in the space race. As Luke Lucas gradually unravels the mystery of his amnesia, he realizes that his fate is bound up with that of the rocket that stands ready on launchpad 26B at Cape Canaveral. And as he relearns the story of his life, he uncovers long-kept secrets about his wife, his best friend and the woman he once loved more than life itself....

Really good!

I have enjoyed most Ken Follet books that I’ve read but thought I’d had my fill of him. I can’t remember the last I’d tried reading but put down obviously to forget!
But I listened to the sample of this one and was instantly interested. I’m so glad I bought it and resented having to stop listening to go to work, looking forward to putting on again as soon as I got home.

Save a credit!

I have previously enjoyed Ken Follett but this novel is like someone was writing under his name and not very well. Perhaps the reader had something to do with it. I don’t know. The plot just fell apart.. racing to save a rocket from Russian spies but still time for the two heroes to indulge in excruciatingly awful sex scenes, so called military establishments and personnel being duped by implausible excuses. No, give it a miss

Another good one by Ken

I'm a fan of Ken Follet and this is another good listen. As usual the story and the characters run together and in this story there's sympathy for both sides. The story moves along at a good pace and the narration is fantastic. The narrator has the qualities I really love, a good voice, a reader that gets the novel and enhances it and is able to draw you in so that you forget the story is being read and just get lost in it.

Below his usual standard

I’m a big fan of Ken Follett and had this been the first book of his I read I may not have read as many as I have!
His best work is “Pillars of The Earth”

Great story

The narrator was excellent as was the story, I couldn’t put it down towards the end.
