About this listen

Brought to you by Puffin.

Peter and Santa live a rather dull existence with their aunt, Rebecca, but when she dies, they face the awful prospect of life in separate orphanages. In desperation, they run away to find their only living relative, Uncle Gus, who works in a circus as a clown. Gus will let them stay only if they promise to work hard, and so the children plunge headlong into the circus world, where they soon discover skills they never knew they had. But life is so different - will they ever truly belong?

It was an amazing recording and the story was passionate and funny giving a star quality story

Really Good

The story is lovely, and whilst it's charming that Noel's descendants feel an affinity for her work, it doesn't make them decent narrators. Unfortunately this is read extremely poorly, with such strange emphasis on words that it was a real slog to finish.

Alas, the nepo-narration means that it's very dull
