Story
Pemberley’s ancient halls harbour many secrets. Which one will affect Fitzwilliam Darcy and the love of his life? How is Mr. Bennet to enjoy the comforts of a well-stocked library, when his wife’s premature demise had left him with the task of finding suitable matches for their daughters? And what of a misleading encounter on a muddy lane in Hertfordshire, that renders a country-town assembly rather more tolerable than some might have thought?

Story
“Mr Darcy, I am eager to hear your explanation for the fact that quite a few people believe we are engaged.” It starts with a bit of well-meant advice. Colonel Fitzwilliam suggests to his cousin Darcy that, before he proposes to Elizabeth Bennet in Kent, perhaps he ought to discuss his plans with their families first. What neither man could have predicted however was that Lord Matlock would write the news to his sister, or that Viscount Saye would overhear and tell his friends, or that his friends might slip a little and let their friends know as well.

Marcus Reese, Duke of Exeter, has spent most of his life pulling his twin brother out of trouble. A thank you would suffice; instead, his resentful sibling forges his name to a marriage license and presents him with an unwanted wife. She's a vicar's widow with a mind of her own, and the first person in Marcus's well-ordered life to make him feel...completely out of control. Dire straits have led Hannah to the altar with a gentleman she hardly knows. Played for a fool, she's embarrassed, furious, and worse, married to an equally outraged, exasperating man.

NOTE TO SELF .... double check timings before purchasing. £5.99 for an hours tale is extortionate, this is NOT a book just a mere short story. The narrator is appalling & the entite thing was a complete boring rip off. Can't believe I fell for this con?

Graphic sex after 10 minutes
I did not finish this. Not even ten minutes into the story, there is a graphic sex scene. This is not what I expected from a Pride and Prejudice variation. I stopped listening, fast forwarded, but it still went on after a few minutes, so I removed it from my device.
The narrator's voice didn't match the young Lizzy at all -- which isn't her fault, but still. Poor choice for a poor excuse of a story.

Different but characters true to Jane Austen
This is a delightful story of Elizabeth and Darcy's first Christmas together. In this story, Darcy and her father dispose of Wickham and enjoy a delightful holiday with their family. This story is not typical of Jane Austen, but the writing of the characters stays true.

Steamy Novella
It's Lizzy and Darcy's first Christmas together, and an unwelcome guest puts a damper on the festivities. This is a quick listen that contains steamy explicit scenes between Lizzy and Darcy. The angst is low and the satisfaction high as our villain finally gets what he deserves! The narration was well done. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.
