Summary

For years Magiere and Leesil have sought a long-forgotten artifact, even though its purpose has been shrouded in mystery. All Magiere knows is that she must keep the orb from falling into the hands of a murdering Noble Dead, her half-brother Welstiel. And now dreams of a castle locked in ice lead her south, on a journey that has become nothing less than an obsession.

Love the authors, not the narrator

I have to say, i love this series. Fantastic story. I was sooo excited to see that these books were on audible. Then I started to listen. The narrator has to be a speed reader. She speaks way too fast for the book. You cannot tell the characters apart, she is constantly loosing the accents or placing them on the wrong character. I had to slow down the audio just to get a feel of what was going on. Made me not want to purchase any of the other books, since this was so badly portrayed by the narrator. Authors need to chose wisely.

A little darker than the previous books

What about Tanya Eby’s performance did you like?

The narrator is consistently outstanding. Even with some of the very difficult names, she consistently pronounces them the same way every time (unlike the narrators in the Terry Goodkind books. Eby should the audible's choice for narration in all books that are a continuing series

Any additional comments?

This book was a bit darker than the previous books and the scenes at the monastery had me skipping ahead as it was so gruesome, however, in Chain and Wyn's final meeting, the need for the level of gruesomeness was made clear. Overall, great book, great series.

Yet another great work from Barb & j.c. Hendee

I loved this book. I was sad that it was coming to the end and then remembered that there is a season 2 & I was happy again. This book continues a wonderful story telling of Magiere, Leesil, Chap, and Wynn.
