Summary

Trust no one but yourself…

The second blockbuster thriller in the Stephanie Patrick series. The previous novel, The Rhythm Section, is soon to be a major motion picture from the producers of the James Bond film series, starring Jude Law and Blake Lively.

She can’t escape her past…

Stephanie Patrick thought her double life was over. But a call from her past throws her back into the world where international crime and terrorism meet.

The target is Koba: a Russian criminal with influential connections, whose true identity remains a dangerous secret.

From New York through Europe to Moscow, Stephanie tracks Koba. But in a game of betrayal where trust is weakness and violence is routine, one false move could prove fatal…

"Bigger and slicker in every way than his first novel. If you buy no other thriller this holiday season, buy this one." (The Economist)

Gripping!!

This is the second book of this series and again it doesn't fail to grab hold, high octane action mixed with secrets and lies. Stephanie is a character that takes you on an emotional journey from a young woman who wants to forget everything to a lady after revenge who then becomes an assassin and spy through many choices both her own and those of her aliases. She is many people, nothing is black and white but ultimately she just wants to find herself again and be loved........but that is something the powers that be won't let happen. A great series well narrated.

The narration ruined it for me

When I’m listening to a thriller I don’t want an over breathy overly annunciated reader that’s not emotionally in touch with the book.

This was my 162nd audible and the first I gave up with. She was just too much in the way.

I gave the story 2 but in all honesty I couldn’t hear it for the narrator
