Really satisfying

After the second story in this anthology I relaxed, knowing that I was in safe hands. A beautifully nuanced and paced anthology. Thank you. I wanted more and look forward to your next anthology release.

Enjoyable mix

One of the best anthologies I’ve taken from Audible- for my taste anyway. There were a couple that were for adolescent boys and a couple for adolescent girls, and only one I skipped, but the rest were imaginative interesting ideas, well performed. Looking forward to the next book. Hopefully it’ll be this well balanced for other listeners :)

Some great short stories

I will be keeping an eye out for more. As with a collection like this some I enjoyed more than others. The reading was fine.

A good collection

Some very good stories, others a bit unfulfilling. The male narrator is excellent, the female narrator is not as good. The Firebug and the Pharaoh narrated by the female narrator, has an Irish/Northern Irish/Scottish character and to be honest, I'm not sure what nationality the character is, because the accent was truly terrible. Painful to listen to, the narrator mingled the accents together in a performance so bad it was like a comic parody, except it was far from funny.

Generally though, I enjoyed the short stories and will definitely look into some of the authors for ideas for my next series!

Literally wonderful

I hadn't heard of any of the authors before listening to this anthology but I'm glad I was introduced to them. Naturally with a large selection like this, I didn't enjoy some stories as much as others but I was entranced with several and wish I could hear more about the characters and the universes that they inhabit.

The only downside for me was the voice of the female narrator. I genuinely wondered if it was a synthetic computer voice often and I found it to be too emotion-less and robotic. Some people may find that it works brilliantly for this genre but it prevented me from becoming immersed into a couple of the stories, despite trying several times and being interested in the story itself.

Overall it was thoroughly enjoyable and is great value, particularly considering that you will probably discover a new favourite sci-fi author.
