As someone who barely passed high school science, I never expected to be fascinated by a science book! I started reading during my morning coffee and couldn't put it down. The chapter about the massive plant larger than DC had me immediately searching for photos online. My 12-year-old borrowed it and now keeps sharing random facts at dinner ("Dad, did you know birds can dive faster than airplanes?"). What makes this truly special is how it presents complex concepts without dumbing them down. The section on blind patients who can "see" unconsciously sparked an hour-long discussion with my partner. Unlike other science books that feel like textbooks, this one reads like a collection of the world's most interesting mysteries. Perfect for curious minds of any background!

Right, so I've just had a listen to Brain, Nature, Mind, Universe, and blimey, this audiobook is absolutely fascinating. I'm not some brainbox, but I do like a good documentary about space or how things work, and this is like having one playing in your ears, but even better.

It's packed with all sorts of interesting facts, from how our own brains tick to the massive, baffling mysteries of the universe. They've even updated it for 2024, so you're getting all the latest discoveries, not some dusty old theories. It gets into stuff like black holes, the origins of life, and even consciousness – things that really make you scratch your head and think. The narrator makes it all sound really engaging, not like a boring school lesson. If you've got even a passing interest in science, or just wonder about the big questions, this is a proper good listen. You'll definitely learn a thing or two, that's for sure.

After listening to "Brain, Nature, Mind, Universe..." I am in awe and humbled by what happens on this planet, in the human body, and mind.

I thought I already carried quite a bit of knowledge about these subjects but "Brain, Nature, Mind, Universe..." left no stone UN-turned with the breadth of knowledge and insight provided. I was VERY struck about the functioning of both the brain and mind.

If you've got questions: how far, how fast, how wide, how unique, etc. This book will provide you with answers in an appealing manner!

This one was a wild ride, in a good way. It jumps into all kinds of topics—how the brain works, weird stuff in nature, space mysteries, you name it—but it somehow keeps it interesting without getting too deep or confusing. The updated 2024 discoveries were a nice touch and made it feel fresh. Some of the facts really made me stop and think, and I like that it didn’t pretend to have all the answers. It leans into the mystery, which made it more fun. If you're curious about how everything connects without needing a science degree, this one’s worth checking out.

This book has created the coolest new ritual with my teenage son! Suddenly our family dinners are filled with discussions about quantum physics rather than Fortnite updates. The black hole explanations clicked for me after years of confusion. I've started surprising people with interesting facts during lunch, and my wife (who usually runs from anything science-related) couldn't stop listening about the brain mysteries section. Love that it includes recent discoveries that hadn't made headlines yet. A perfect read whether you're a science newbie or just curious about our fascinating universe!

I picked this up because I wanted something different than my usual military history books. And woah! This book delivered some super cool insights. This wasn’t dry science it was like going through a collection of mind-expanding thought experiments, discoveries, and the kinds of facts that stuck with me for days.

The narration was smooth and engaging. It kept the pace lively without rushing past the weight of the material, which really mattered for some of the bigger ideas.

One takeaway that floored me was about how the mind can influence physical reality—backed by decades of actual research. It’s not just sci-fi fluff. It made me rethink how little we understand about consciousness and the power of intention.

If you’re the kind of person who likes your facts laced with wonder, mystery, and a few unanswerable questions, this book is a great ride.

I wasn’t sure if this would be too dense, but it totally wasn’t. It’s full of those random, fascinating facts that make you go, “wait, how did I not know that?” Some parts had me straight up pausing to Google more. It hits on brain science, nature, the universe and basically all the big questions, with a chill vibe. You don’t need to be a science nerd to enjoy it, just curious. Super cool listen for long drives or chill nights.
